It infuriates me to read reviews published here bitching about 'No room service'... Been travelling to Manali since the last 4 years and have referred dozens of people to Drifters' who will all vouch for the fact that this is put forward upfront and very transparently... The focus is clearly on 2 very distinct but well maintained entities, the Cafe and the Inn, both of which are loved to the core by many of us who have stayed here. Try throwing these tantrums abroad when in an Inn and be sure you'll be the one thrown out.
Nishant is an absolute gem of a person and will go out of his way to help you make the best of your Manali experience, expecting no commission from anyone he refers to you. This makes for a pleasant experience with the drivers or adventure operators you come across as they understand the level of goodwill these interactions maintain.
The rooms at the Inn have a homely feel to them, reminding me of our time in different log cabins in North America. Very rustic and charming. The Cafe is a splendid meeting point for true Drifters across the town of Old Manali.
As a keen bird photographer, I owe Nishant a debt of gratitude for taking out the time to help me research and fine tune my birding trails and coming across amazing species such as the Lammergeier, Alpine Accentor, Rock Bunting, Grandala...

Read moreWorst place to stay in Manali....I am writing here some negative points that may help u to avoid falling to this hotel's popularity No room service They don't serve food in your rooms. Not even in case of emergency. Very average rooms (U can get far far better rooms for lesser price) No parking (They say they have parking, but there is a serious constraint) Rude Staff Very average food Worse because many people will recommend you this hotel....What they recommend is its restaurant, which in fact is a good experience in terms of ambiance and cool decoration....food is somewhat ok (Many better places to eat in Manali including Dragon's Inn, just next to it). What really is dissapointing is Hotel Service..They don't serve food in your roooms (Imagine staying on 3rd floor, so called superior rooms) with your kids, and every time coming to ground floor only to carry back your tray of lunch or dinner. To make things worse,, staff doesn't treat u well on humanitarian grounds...
