Visited Lamrin Cafe & Bar in Dharamkot with some expectations given the hype around the area, but the experience turned out to be fairly mediocre overall. First and most noticeable issue was the hygiene—specifically, the washroom. It was dirty, unkempt, and clearly not maintained with any seriousness. For a place that presents itself as a trendy cafe-bar, that's unacceptable. It’s one thing to have rustic aesthetics, but another to neglect basic cleanliness.
The ambiance didn’t help either. There was no music playing throughout the time we were there, which stripped the place of any real vibe or energy. You expect some background music at least to set the mood, but the silence just made the place feel lifeless and unfinished. A cafe and bar without atmosphere is just a room with tables.
Food was, frankly, average. Not bad enough to complain, but certainly nothing worth remembering or recommending. The kind of meal you finish without forming any opinion simply because there’s nothing distinct about it—neither in taste nor presentation. For a place situated in such a tourist-heavy area, you’d expect them to raise the bar a little, but it felt like they were coasting on location alone.
As for the hookah, which is one of their supposed attractions, it's only available in tobacco form. That too was lackluster—the preparation wasn’t great, the flavor was flat, and the overall setup seemed like a side gig rather than something they put care into. Definitely not a place to go if you're specifically looking to enjoy a hookah session.
All in all, the place seems to be running on minimal effort. There’s potential in the location and setting, but execution is lacking. They need to get their basics right—hygiene, music, food quality, and proper service. Right now, it’s just a forgettable pit stop rather than a place you’d want to return to or recommend. Three stars only because the staff was polite and the view outside was decent, but...

Read moreWe arrived in Dharmkot late one evening and were immediately drawn to a cozy bonfire, which led us to grab a couple of drinks. To our surprise, they had an amazing food menu! We ordered fresh pizza, momos, coffee, and burgers with freshly made chicken patties—everything was delicious! We learned that the cafe owner also owns the hotel right next door, the Dharmkot Inn, making booking a room super easy. The inn is conveniently located in the heart of Dharmkot and even has private parking, which is hard to find around here. The cafe also features a snooker table, pool table, and gaming section, adding to the fun vibe. We spent our evenings by the bonfire chatting with interesting travelers from all over the world. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and I highly recommend checking...
