Had the most terrible fish and chips of my life here. Very very salty, thin fillets, overfried chips and oh yeah, the menu says tartar sauce but they give you mayo. And when you ask for tartar sauce, they offer mint sauce instead until you insist and the waiter finally brings out the tartar sauce. In his defence, he was not in this world, ifykyk. Extremely dirty and stinky washrooms. There was no water in the flush. When I asked for it they offered another washroom in the hotel below but that was even worse. Very average honey lemon ginger tea and coffee. There was only this thin tall waiter (I missed asking his name) who was very polite, professional and great at the service. And then comes the manager Uday. While others have had amazing interactions with him as I see from the reviews, mine was terrible and will be the reason why I will not return to this cafe. Something that could have been sorted with a polite acknowledgment and apology was met with loud arguments. While paying the bill as well, I tried to talk about the experience very very politely and wanted to share feedback but if only Uday knew how to listen before rambling. He went on and on without giving me a second to speak. He also very smartly minced his words and denied his behaviour in the morning while the other waiter who was witness to the discussion in the morning apologized on behalf of Uday. I think I should have just picked my bag and left for another cafe nearby instead of ruining my day. I wouldn’t be writing this review if not for the manager because I went there for the view and instead had my entire day ruined. Also this experience was vastly different from when I had...
Read moreA friend and I were initially drawn to the cafe by the beautiful music they were playing and we soon found ourselves frequenting this place for its warm vibe and gracious hospitality by its host Uday. Surprisingly, the music was always on point and the food was mostly good. Their grilled trout, salads and beverages (hot toddy, ginger honey lemon tea, fresh juices) were delicious and well presented. Uday likes serving with his heart and a special touch. We had a host of different beverages over a few days and each one was presented in a different kind of glassware to add to our experience. The host and staff go the extra mile to make sure you’re comfortable and well looked after, be it placing angeethis when it gets cold to offering warm water or even shawls to their regular customers. There’s literally a sukoon to this cafe. One of the best places in Dharamkot hands down. I might have had a better dish or two elsewhere but I could not find this ambience and vibe...
Read morePros: Mountain View Cons: Extremely bad food, and the service is even worst. Specially the person at the counter, he is taking orders as if doing some favor, no smile no greetings and takes orders with angry and rude face. I ordered 30 ml scotch, I think they gave me less quantity and the glass was not properly clean, no stirrer and they are charging 350/- for 30 ml.. but a 3rd class service. Then at the counter we clearly requested separate bills, but he made common bill and asked us to pay just one bill and divide among ourselves. I mean you don't tell us what to do when you are already instructed to make separate bills. Your job is to serve not to instruct customers.
We wanted to order another round of drinks but instead went to our all time favorite Moon light Cafe (just to the opposite) and ordered our remaining food and...
