Our stay at this hotel was nothing short of magical. What made it truly special was the laid-back, cozy vibe — we absolutely loved sitting on the floor in a beautifully set-up lounge area, enjoying a wide variety of wines and soft drinks. It felt intimate and refreshing, something you don’t find at every hotel.

The culinary experience was equally delightful — from rich and creamy Italian pastas to flavorful and authentic Chinese dishes, every bite was a treat. The variety was impressive, and everything was served fresh and piping hot.

THE ATMOSPHERE was a live Indian band that played soulful music until 1 AM. The blend of soft lighting, great music, and relaxed seating made it a perfect spot to unwind and just enjoy the moment. The band brought an authentic, lively touch that kept us engaged and swaying with every PUNJABI BEAT.

I have been travelling through India and stayed at countless hotels of all kinds over the past 9 years. I can honestly say that Rakus Hotel and Cafe is my 2nd favorite hotel in all of India. I can write a novel about the spaciousness, cleaniness and amenities (there's hot water in the hand washing sink, which is a luxury I didn't get from luxury hotels in Delhi, Mumbai, etc). Rakus location cannot be beat being a stone throw from Bagsu Falls and just a short beautiful walk to McLeod Ganj. The Cafe is beautiful and the food is amazing. I ended up taking all my breakfasts and dinners there. But what makes Rakus the best are the people working and staying there. I fell in love with everyone who always treats me with such genuine care and affection. I was only there for 5 days in July and I am now finding comfort in the fact that I'll be back to stay at Rakus for a month this September. I truly cannot recommend this place enough. If you want an experience that you would want to remember for life, Rakus is your place. Just be warned that they will steal your heart like...
