Updated 2 (Sept 2019): Quality detriorated a lot. Biggest proof is their dosa which has become as thin as your fingers and very poor masala. General food taste and quality in total has declined sharply. Lowering rating by 1 star now for final. Terribly inconsistent with quality. Updated 1 (July 2017): Service has improved a lot. It appears to be the finest place to have Masala dosa, Sambhar and Vada, which are good in quantity now and have very authentic taste and flavor. Have become regular again at this place. For non-veg, Tandoori chicken, lemon Chicken, Keema Kaleji and Chilli Chicken are the best preparations. Yet, the home delivery foods are not prepared well. OLD Review: Have been a client of this restaurants for several years. But since 2014, this restuarent has started falling sharply. I personally know its boss Sharmaji and always like its food, staffs and treatment. But off late it is not the same Taj. Staffs are changed for worse, so the food and its quality. The same food which you used to eat with all authenticity is now full of compromise and poor quality while the prices have been hiked. Sharmaji, its time to review yourself and be honest. Feeling bad to write this review, but just imagine how bad your Taj has gone that old customers now don't want to be there. Still I hope...

I am myself from Palampur and I heard a lot about Taj's Butter Chicken. Few days back I ordered Dal Makhani because I belong to a vegetarian family and no one eats chicken else than me. Let me tell you , I am myself from hospitality background and I work in a five star property but the taste of dal makhani was not upto the mark. So , personally I don't recommend you to buy that. First of all, salt was very less.. I don't know for whose taste they have made that dal.. It was even lesser for a foreigner. Then the quality of grains of dal was not to the mark. Texture was not appropriate for the recipe . They gave it a shade of white colour just because they think it is the way the dal makhani to be presented and even the way of mixing the butter was not correct. But yes, tandoori naan were a decent choice at 15rs per piece price. So, these were some recommendations from my side. Hope, it would help someone...
