A Peaceful Paradise at Urban Monk, Manali

Manali is undoubtedly a beautiful destination, but what made our trip truly special was our stay at Urban Monk. My wife, daughter, and I spent four serene nights at this wonderful homestay, and we can confidently say it was peaceful, comfortable, and rejuvenating for all three of us.

After being immersed in the hustle of daily life, all we wanted was peace, relaxation, and quality family time — not the usual sightseeing rush. Urban Monk gave us just that.

A Few Important Points for Future Travelers: Homestay, Not a Hotel — But Better! Urban Monk is a homestay, not a hotel — but it easily outshines any 3-star hotel in terms of hospitality, cleanliness, and warmth. Breathtaking Location: We stayed in a beautiful 2-bedroom apartment on the third floor. The view from our room was simply majestic — snow-covered mountains right in front of us. Exceptional Service: Special thanks to Aayush and Lovejot for their excellent care and attention. The entire team made sure we were comfortable throughout our stay. Delicious, Home-Style Food: We had all our meals — breakfast, lunch, and dinner — at Urban Monk, and every dish was just like home-cooked food. Despite staying for five days, we faced zero stomach issues, which says a lot! Polite and Caring Staff: What sets them apart is their humility and dedication. Every staff member was polite, respectful, and genuinely eager to help. The Urban Monk Café: Just a 200-meter uphill walk from the property is their café — a must-visit! The food, ambiance, and views were absolutely fabulous. A true heart-meal experience! Above and Beyond: They arranged everything we asked for — even a Scooty and special meals for our daughter. Every small need was taken care of with a smile. A Note for Future Guests: While the staff goes above and beyond, we as guests must also be respectful. Sadly, during our stay, a few youngsters misbehaved and caused damage to the property despite repeated warnings. This affected the peace of the entire team, who couldn’t sleep that night. Let’s all be responsible travelers.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this stunning glass house on December 7th, which also happened to be my wife’s birthday, and I must say, the experience was nothing short of spectacular.

From the moment we stepped into the glass cabin, we were absolutely mesmerized. My wife and I were so thrilled that we couldn’t resist video-calling our family members to share the beauty of the place.

The manager, Neeraj, truly stood out for his exceptional hospitality. Since it was a special occasion, he went above and beyond to make it memorable. When I inquired about decorating the space, his response was always an enthusiastic “Yes,” without hesitation or excuses.

Another staff member, Gagan, was equally remarkable. I would highly recommend tipping him generously before leaving—he genuinely deserves it.

Do keep in mind that the location is at an elevation, so nights can get extremely cold—pack accordingly!

The swing, the location, and the meticulous attention to detail in the cabin’s design all added to the magic.

This was hands down one of the best places I have ever stayed. From the picturesque cabin to the outstanding hospitality of Neeraj and Gagan, everything was top-notch.
