Bikanerwala, located in the bustling Basheerbagh area of Hyderabad, stands out as one of the better restaurants in the vicinity and proudly carries the distinction of being among the pioneers of pure vegetarian dining experiences.
Upon entering, guests are greeted by an extensive sweets section offering a variety of treats. While the taste may be more or less average, there is certainly room for improvement to elevate the overall experience. Nevertheless, the Kaju Katli and Ghevar stand out as delightful highlights that leave a lasting impression.
The true star of the show at Bikanerwala is undoubtedly the chaat section. Bursting with flavors, it boasts an impressive array of delectable delights like Raj Kachori, Samosa, Chhole Bhature, and Pav Bhaji, each one more delicious than the last. Even the unexpected addition of pasta and pizza proves to be a pleasant surprise, satisfying the cravings of diverse palates.
During lunch and dinner, some dishes like Dal Makhni, Fried Rice, and Noodles are commendable and provide a satisfying meal. However, the curries could benefit from a bit of fine-tuning to match the excellence of the chaat and bakery items.
Speaking of bakery delights, Bikanerwala offers a delightful assortment of items like bread, garlic bread, and pizza bases, each crafted with care and precision.
Beyond the culinary delights, the staff at Bikanerwala deserve special mention for their extreme sensitivity to the needs of customers, ensuring that each guest feels valued and well-cared for throughout their visit.
The pricing at this restaurant is very reasonable, making it an attractive choice for those seeking a flavorful yet budget-friendly dining experience. The interiors, while not extravagant, provide a comfortable and decent ambiance that complements the area's vibe.
In conclusion, Bikanerwala in Basheerbagh offers an above-average dining experience with a vibrant chaat section, delightful sweets, and an array of bakery items that are sure to please. Though there is room for improvement in certain areas, the staff's attentiveness, decent interiors, and reasonable pricing make it a solid choice for anyone looking to savor pure vegetarian delicacies in the heart...

Can be a problem on holidays / weekends when there's a huge rush (we access from entrance enroute Ram-koti to Basheerbagh). The entrance is not friendly to differently abled. It's just stairs.
Ambience:
Well lit, well maintained, ample number of tables to accommodate around 250 people easily. There are 10 / 8 / 6 / 4 seaters. Housekeeping does its job and is prompt to attend to unexpected spills.
Staff:
Not too polite but definitely professional. They are clear with the policies and procedures of their business and do put in extra effort to ensure comfort of their customers but also are capable of bluntly refusing to unreasonable demands (tried and tested).
Service:
Easy and fast. There's no rule that only the designated waiter has to attend to the table... Call in anyone and the response is positive.
Food:
The methods employed draw our attention to the beauty of traditional Indian cooking and its significance. The importance of ghee in cooking, for example, is evident in the taste. Every dish is impeccably delicious and tickles your taste buds with every bite. I could rate it 8 on 5.
Prices:
Good quality demands higher price... So yes, prices are marginally high. I have always wondered how people fix up a random price of ₹ xxxx for two. Does it not depend on the quantity of food ordered for?!
Entertainment:
Can't comment; though there are TVs and background instrumentals playing, I never paid much attention to the details.

Read moreWe went here on a Sunday night. It was full! However, we quickly found a table for five. The food is just wonderful. Each and every item others ordered looked delicious. Had we not seen them, ordering would have been easy. Just when I mentally settled for a dish, I would spot something else on some other table and rethink my choice.
Finally, we ordered a white pasta, chole bhature, paneer tikka, lacha paratha, chilly paratha, dum aloo Patiala, Navratan pulao and falooda.
The pasta was so rich and creamy, the broccoli and olives complimented the dish and I can vouch that this is the best pasta you'll get to eat in India!
Chole bhature - the pooris are just how they should be. Neither kadad nor very soft. The plus is that you get a Jain variant of the sabji. It is equally tasty.
Paneer tikka - I saw them making it! When you see something being cooked, your appetite increases and you come to love it.
Lacha paratha and chilly paratha - rotis were soft. The chilly paratha is just the exact level of spice one can eat!
The sabji was a letdown. It was not dum aloo, but the big aloo cut into small pieces. This is why we did not enjoy the sabji much.
Next is the pulao. Yes, it was great!
Falooda was not as expected. It was good, but not upto the mark.
The staff are courteous and the service is prompt. The restaurant maybe slightly overpriced, but I think it is worth the quality of food.
Definitely one of the best...
