Given how highly renowned Cafe Bahar is, and that it shares the Hyderabadi dum biryani legend status with Paradise, Shah Gouse, Bawarchi and some others, I went here on a solo food trip for lunch on a Saturday noon. Here are my impressions : Firstly, there are NO branches for this hotel. This is the one and only, original Cafe Bahar near Himayatnagar. It's in an ages old building (where it started really) but has been improved and renovated here and there. It's located in a pedestrian or 2 wheeler oriented neighborhood. Meaning, you'll have a tough time parking here if you came by car. Also, it will be VERY Crowded. Expect 10 to 15 mins waiting for the AC family seating space. The restrooms are very antiquated and not going to appeal to those expecting polished mall like fancy western commodes. Better do your business elsewhere 🤣 it's okay to wash your hands. I had the extra masala Chicken biryani that cost about 250 INR. For the meal alone, the biryani was fantastic! Very much amazing quality of chicken and quantity of dish for 1 person. In fact, this would suffice for 2 light eaters! Unlike me if you are bit picky about classy interiors, I'd suggest that you order via a delivery app. Also, they only accept cards and cash. They don't do UPI apps like Paytm, Gpay etc. I wonder why though. Overall, loved the experience. Lived up to its name. Great for friends to meet up for a huge but affordable treat!

This cafe/bar is there since 1973 making it one of the oldest cafes in Hyderabad. This place is a gem in Hyderabad. This place is always full, we had to wait for 30 min in a line to get our seats. Well, people wait for this much time because they know it's worth it. So finally getting the seat we decide to order Jumbo biryani (because it's famous for its biryani). The quantity was so huge, enough to fill the tummies of 5 people. We were 3 and couldn't finish it obviously so we had to take the parcel. The taste is the best, topped with boiled eggs & some chicken fried pieces which tasted like chicken chilly. I personally like more masala proportion to rice which was not the case here. The taste was super awesome, masala sticks to rice giving it a perfect taste. I cannot explain the taste cuz it's Biryani, it was just awesome. The service was the best! There are a lot of waiters in the restaurant making the service fast & on point. Our Biryani got served in like 10 minutes. We were served by Mr. Tapas Das & he took good care of us. Had a great time, will visit again for sure when in Hyderabad.

Unnecessary hype to this place for biryani. I’m not sure if I had bad experience because I visited in the closing hours. Around 11:30 in the night I went and it still had waiting which excited me even more and was craving to try the biryani. We got a table after a wait of 15min and then the waiter said to give the order at once as they will not take second order. We were not sure of quantity of biryani so we checked with waiter of one biryani pot if that would serve 2-3? But in return he said one biryani would serve one person only! This is why we ordered two separate biryani one chicken and one mutton. As shown in picture there was more of white flavoured rice and no different taste but just like a normal biryani which is not properly cooked or the mutton piece. And we couldn’t eat or finish one biryani also. I tried speaking to manager if they can take back one biryani and cancel order but they denied and neither we had liked it. So we took parcel the entire biryani and gave roadside. I really had bad experience with taste of food and uncooked food.

Man, this place is too far away from my house, its 20km..!! But I dont mind going any distance for non-vegetarian food(Conditions Apply).This place made me come here or had been making me come here every sunday (Again Conditions Apply) since, when I first tasted.If I had to talk in alsi Hyderabadi style, Bhai idhar tho kya miltha bhai, mai kuchch bhi nakko bol saktha yaaro ya mai kuchch bhi nahi bol saktha. Mast khana miltha idhar..!!I love the Chicken-65 here. Its really good. And infact I had once orderded for four Chicken-65s for my friends and myself, and I had finished three of them..!! :) So now you can understand how good it is. :DI would rate it as:-Taste - 10/10 (only for chicken-65, coz I havent tried any other dish as much as this).Ambience - 10/10, for the fast service and even the take-away is fast too.So, Id suggest for non-veggies to go and try out here rather than sticking to one place (I guess those people can understand what Im talking abt - P).:) :D Thanks

I sat and read almost all reviews and i decided to try their Fish Biryani. The biryani was totally different and m not sure if ishud qualify as a Biryani . The Biryani came with a 4 huge deep batter fried river fish layered inbetween biryani rice. The rice was not overwhelmed with spices or masala and the crispiness of the fish fry was intact. I super liked it. As a dish dish i ordered Gurda dry fry which was just surlplicious . Made in a south Indian style with the usuals the chef dared by putting Ajina moto in it which added to a tangy sweet taste which kept in check by the spiciness. Soft gurda and fi ger licking good masala. For dad I ordere Plain rice and Pa eer butter masala as he dont eat non veg owing to his health issues. Panner was a utter disaapointment. However didnt had much expectation either. It was a early lunch so didnt get much crowd. Parking can be an issue . Accepts online payments

We tried chicken 65,mutton biryani(family), chicken biryani (family), veg fried rice, butter nauns, butter roti, paneer butter masala. Mutton and chicken biryani are not that spicy like we don't see masala in that. For 2 family packs we ate 8 members. We ordered 2 chicken 65 and that one is superb from starters. Butter nauns are not fully roasted. Butter roti are very dry like chapathi in hostels but main course butter paneer masala is too good. Even the veg fried rice is too good. The smoky taste is actually delicious. With these items the price is 2373 rupees. It's reasonable for 10 members with this amount but taste is also very important. Only 2 types of Desserts are available here. Sitting for 10 people here is too good. They gave us a round table. This is a good idea here but the atmosphere is not that good. And even water is dropping from the central ac. Overall it's ok ok.
