It's pocket friendly and you get a wide range of options to choose from. Staffs are very polite and they have good knowledge about the food they serve (for example: the ingredients and taste).
The best part about this particular place is that on requesting them to slightly customise the dish as per your taste they really try their best to deliver that for example you want the preperation of a particular item in your choice of sauce and you can request them (even though that is not in the menu) and to make that sweet, spicy etc(is quite common in most restaurants). Quantity is really filling and satisfactory for two.
Now coming to some of my most favourite dishes here are: Mixed Stewed Rice(white gravy) i personally don't like the red gravy due to its over sweet flavour however you can give it a try with the red gravy as well(more like American Chopsuey). Secondly their shredded chicken in black bean sauce is really well prepared. Kung Pao Chicken is great as well. (Prawns and fish too can be prepared in the same sauce on request).
Coming down to noodles they do serve amazing Chinese Chopsuey and Thukpa. Well their bamboo fried rice is also quiet good(it has the authentic pungent smell of bamboos, which if you are already a fan of will love it in a jiffy).
They have a wide range of options for main course like chicken, lamb, fish and prawns and ofcourse great vegetarian options. Their steamed dumplings are just amazing(the sauce is not that great!). They are juicy and fresh and served in a good quantity.
Soups are even good,my personal favourite is the sea food soup( i like to start with the lighter one). They have other common options too in soups and it's all good and authentic.
Starters are really really good and extremely filling (you might miss on the main course as quantity is good and taste will definitely make you order one more😁).
Again my personal favourite is their dry chilli crab(this is not in the menu,it's salt and pepper crab there however on request they prepare it especially for their guests).
The ambience is very nice with dimmed lights and that authentic Chinese food aroma around .
Mostly families visit the restaurant. New parents are seen most of the time with their toddlers, since the restaurant is not that huge though it has a second floor(which is not always active). If you love children you can play with them as well, since seats are not placed afar. However,it's well maintained and managed.
I have always seen the place full and before I forget to mention Please try their Chinese sizzlers (prawn sizzlers are my personal favourite). They have chicken, vegetarian options as well and it's honestly commendable. I found it to be the best till now in Hyderabad out of all the places i have tried in the past. Give it a try,you might find the end to your Chinese food cravings and get a new fav place to hang...
Read moreBowl O' China: Once a Favorite, Now a Disappointment - Diners Beware! As Shri Charan, owner of a media company and a long-time regular at Bowl O' China in Begumpet, I feel compelled to share a deeply disappointing experience that has shattered my perception of this establishment. My family and I have frequented Bowl O' China specifically for their Crispy Honey Chilly Potato dish, a favorite we've consistently enjoyed.
Today, on the special occasion of my wife's birthday, her heart was set on indulging in this very dish. We visited Bowl O' China with anticipation, ordered our beloved Crispy Honey Chilly Potato at the usual price of ₹240. However, our excitement quickly turned to dismay. The quantity served was shockingly half of what we have consistently received on previous visits.
To our surprise and frustration, when we politely pointed out this significant discrepancy and even presented photographic evidence from our last visit, the restaurant staff dismissed our concerns. Their explanation? "It could be by mistake." This casual dismissal, especially on a special occasion, was not only insulting but also demonstrated a blatant disregard for customer satisfaction.
Despite our attempts to reason with the management and request a fair adjustment, they remained unyielding and refused to offer any discount. This experience has left me feeling cheated and deeply questioning the integrity of Bowl O' China's business practices.
My strong recommendation to fellow diners is to exercise extreme caution when patronizing Bowl O' China. While their Crispy Honey Chilly Potato was once a reliable delight, our recent experience suggests a severe inconsistency in their portion sizes. Be vigilant about the quantity you receive and ensure it aligns with the price you are paying.
To the management of Bowl O' China: Your dismissive attitude towards loyal customers and the apparent reduction in quantity without any price adjustment is unacceptable. You risk alienating your regular clientele and tarnishing your reputation. It is imperative that you address these inconsistencies, ensure fair value for money, and treat customer feedback with the seriousness it deserves. Stop these deceptive practices and prioritize customer satisfaction.
To the public: Save your pockets and be wary. Ensure you receive the quality and quantity you are paying for at Bowl O' China. If you find discrepancies, do not hesitate to question them and, if necessary, refuse to pay an unfair bill. Let's hold establishments accountable for...
