HAIR AND THREAD IN FOOD MANNERLESS MANAGER (SRINIVAS)
So before you read the entire review, the rating is only for the mangers attitude and quality of the food and not the taste.
We were here to celebrate an anniversary and boy was the lunch a disaster! After seeing a very high rating on Zomato, we headed here only to be utterly disappointed.
The reached the restaurant at 2:30 and it was busy We were asked to wait for about 20 mins and got our table after the said time. We were told by our waiter that they had 3 vegetarian starters - hara bhara kebab, crispy baby corn and paneer tikka. All the starters were decent.
The live counter had a dosa station and an aloo tikki station. The dosa was below average and the aloo tikki was delicious!
By the time we finished our starters, it was almost 3:10 and our waiter comes to tell us that we only have about 10 minutes to go fetch our main course, after which they will clear everything out because they have to close. We did that and this is where the problems started. Though the mains had a good variety, the things that came along with them were shocking.
We filled our plates and got back to our table. We were served some rotis before we brought our mains which got cold by the time we came back. We asked them to replace them and they did. In the meanwhile, we were tasting the curries and to our shock, we found a STRANDS OF HAIR in two curries and a THREAD in the daal.
When we showed this to a person who calls himself a manager, he simply shrugged and said - "WHY ARE YOU SEARCHING FOR THESE THINGS IN THE FOOD. WE WILL REPLACE IT". We were furious and told him we are not paying Rs. 595 for eating threads and hair, his reply got even better. He said "YOU MAY BE THE ONES PUTTING THE HAIR IN THE FOOD". By now, we had lost it. This cheapskate of a person who told his name was SRINIVAS calls himself a manager. He now turns back and says "YOU ARE THE ONLY PEOPLE CREATING PROBLEMS HERE".
We wanted to leave but our waiter apologized and brought us a few desserts. They were decent. Before leaving this mannerless person now comes back and tries to make small talk. He overheard is talking about writing this experience in a review and said "WRITE WHATEVER YOU WANT IN THE REVIEW IF THAT'S WHAT PLEASES YOU. IT'S NOT GOING TO MAKE ANY DIFFERENCE"
So for a restaurant that's rated 4.7 on zomato and shows up in the CLEAN AND HYGENIC section, we found our lunch nowhere close to this.
For the reader who may think there is always two sides of a coin, we can go through their CCTV tapes (to check if I had put any hair in the food). The same issue has been reported to the...

Read moreWe went at around 10:15 pm (25th June 2023) for dinner with the 5 of us. We were given a table in the inside area. The table was dirty and not cleaned properly. The waiter was barely interested and I had to sweep off rice grains from the table and sofas before sitting and he just watched me do it. They didn't serve us water for ages until I asked again. He was particularly disinterested in his job and was not polite or helpful. When we asked for an alcoholic beverage for my father, he said he'll check if it's available but he never came back. We called him back again and asked what happened and he just shrugged as if he didn't know what we were talking about and said he had placed the entire order anyway. He didn't even confirm our food order properly. He never brought my fruit punch, they completely forgot. When I reminded them much later, the other waiter asked the first rude waiter "arre inka fruit punch bhi tha kya" and the rude guy replies "haan" and then they casually get one made and brought it to me. Check the CCTV footage and see if any of what I'm saying is wrong. Deducting 3 stars for service for that one exceedingly unprofessional and rude waiter. The 2 stars are for the other waiter who was slightly better, otherwise it's a zero for service. Luckily they don't insist on service charge as I would have definitely insisted to have it removed from the menu. Badly behaved loud children screaming and running around hitting our table and chairs as they passed us by, their parents to blame who didn't care as to how much of a disturbance their progeny were causing. The food tasted okay. Definitely a different style of biryani, tasted more of plain rice with ghee mixed with a semi dry mutton fry/curry. I definitely felt the quality and quantity was nowhere near worth rupees 800 per portion of biryani. The chicken 65 was fine, but for the quality of service, cleanliness, and ambience, the near 5 star hotel pricing is ludicrous. An overall unfortunate and unpleasant dinner at Exotica with family...
