Met with friends at Jolly Bros for dinner. The place was not crowded. It had a quaint feel to it. It has an indoors and a covered outdoors. We sat outdoors as the weather was pleasant. We ordered Chicken 65 - it was too spicy for me to enjoy. Mutton pudina sheekh - this was also too spicy. Couldn't finish even one sheekh piece. Amritsari Chicken fingers - this was good. The fish was juicy on the inside and it had just the right amount of batter. Mumbai masala papad - my vegetarian friend enjoyed it Subz miljuli - this was good. Jolly ki roti - these came fluffy and hot. My friends wanted them kadak and they were brought back kadak. Mutton Nahari - I tried a bit of the masala and it was a rich gravy. Ended the evening with Apricot Delight - this had a perfect amount of sugar, not overly sweet and creamy like in some places I had tried it before. My friend ordered some wine and the bill came to 1200/person. Maybe I should go again and try some stuff which are not spicy or maybe everything is spicy there, I don't know. 🤷🏾 Oh and I got a parking ticket for the car being parked on a service road. I had...
Read moreI had dinner at Jolly Bros & Co. today. It was a little on the expensive side, but honestly, pretty close to worth it. I really wanted garlic naan, and even though it wasn’t on the menu, I asked if they could make one by just adding garlic to a regular naan. They did it without a second thought, and it turned out amazing.
The star of the night though was the Dilli Butter Chicken. It had that smoky, rich flavor you always hope for in a good butter chicken... absolutely delicious with the naan. I also tried their Chicken Dum Biryani. It was enough for two people after a naan each. Flavour-wise, it wasn’t too spicy, leaned a little on the sweeter side, but still pretty satisfying.
Service was solid... staff were attentive and friendly throughout. The only letdown was the valet; they took quite a while to bring the car even after we requested it.
All in all, I’d definitely recommend this place if you don’t mind spending a bit extra for some great food and...
Read morejolly bros & co. gives you that bombay cafe wala vibe with their ambience and asthetics. vintage red&white combo chessboard pattern cloths and wooden chairs/tables, portraits & wall posters so it sets the vibe pretty good. separate smoking area seatings and no-smoking area seating so thumbs up for that. small area and talking echoes up a lot so music doesn't do much help with ambience.
coming down to food, they got some options and mostly non veg are main stars here, veg items are limited in variety. I won't straight up say the food is superb cuz it ain't. it's decent but definitely not doesn't match the price they set for the taste they offer(prices could've been lower imo). they do serve alcohol so there's that.
overall it has a unique theme than most of cafes in the city and is somewhat close to metro access and centred around kbr park, jubilee hills area so anyone who wants some chill time with small gang of buddies or casual lowkey date place...
