We visited Naani Restaurant for lunch on Sunday, June 22nd, 2025, to celebrate a birthday and were quite excited to try their South Indian vegetarian thali. However, we were immediately faced with an overwhelming rush of customers, and unfortunately, we had to wait for nearly one full hour before we were finally seated. This excessive delay felt quite unreasonable and made the experience start off on a disappointing note, as we felt our time was not valued. A wait of this length, especially with no prior intimation or reservation support, came off as poorly managed and frustrating. That said, once we were finally seated and the food arrived, the experience took a dramatic turn for the better.
The South Indian thali we ordered was an absolute visual and gastronomic delight, presented beautifully on a large, traditional stainless steel plate. The thali was an explosion of flavors and textures — truly a tribute to the rich culinary essence of Andhra cuisine. The array of dishes included an impressive variety: Paapu (a comforting dal made from toor or moong with tomatoes and subtle spices), Sambar (a spicy and tangy lentil-based vegetable stew), and Rasam (a thin, fiery, tamarind-based soup). The thali also included Poriyal (a dry stir-fried vegetable dish seasoned with mustard seeds and curry leaves), and Kootu (a mildly spiced lentil and vegetable curry that was hearty and satisfying). Complementing these were flavorful condiments like a zesty ginger-tamarind chutney and a creamy, tempered curd pachadi, each bringing unique dimensions to the meal.
A delightful surprise was the inclusion of Poonam, a sweet fritter made with coconut and jaggery, which added a comforting, nostalgic touch. The thali was further complemented by mini pooris, crisp papad, fluffy white rice, flavorful pulao, and a lovely seviyan kheer to end on a sweet, soothing note. Every element of the thali was meticulously prepared, and the balance of flavors—from spicy to tangy to sweet—was simply remarkable. The attention to detail in both presentation and taste really stood out.
The service, once we were finally attended to, was commendable. The staff was warm, courteous, and very knowledgeable about the dishes. They patiently explained the components of the thali and made us feel at home despite the earlier chaos. One of the unexpected highlights was the ginger chai, which was brewed to perfection—bold, warming, and utterly refreshing. It was the perfect end to a vibrant and satisfying meal.
Beyond just the thali, the restaurant boasts an extensive and diverse menu that spans Chinese, North Indian, and South Indian cuisines, offering something for every palate. Whether you're in the mood for a hearty breakfast, a flavorful lunch, a cozy tea-time snack, or a fulfilling dinner, Naani Restaurant in Jubilee Hills promises variety and quality across the board.
All in all, while the initial wait time was a major drawback, the culinary experience that followed was memorable and deeply enjoyable. We would recommend visiting during non-peak hours if possible, to avoid long delays. If you're a food lover looking to indulge in authentic South Indian flavors or explore an eclectic Indian menu, Naani is definitely worth a visit...
Read moreOn 28th September 2025 at 12:30, 3 of us came to Naani's in Gachibowli (Atrium Mall) for lunch. This was our 2nd visit. The 1st visit on 22nd September at 9:30 PM was awesome. Expecting the same service, we came on the 28th again. Since it was a Saturday there was a crowd; everybody was trying to get a token number, and we were told it's a 5-minute wait.
Feedback 1: Zero queue policy; people were coming from all sides to the receptionist/booking counter. The receptionist Divyameghana had no observation, lacking professionalism for the people who were waiting. She was giving tokens randomly without observing who was there first. We were given token #62.
2: When we confronted her about the line being cut, she took the feedback personally. Please read what happened next.
3: After waiting for 20 minutes and seeing people who came after us being called, we approached Divyameghna. She tried playing dirty and started an argument that she called out #62 and according to her, we must have missed it, and she assumed we left. Ironically, she called token number 55 around 3 to 4 times even when the customer did not show up.
4: When I checked her register, I saw that she had already ticked token number 62 in her record.
5: When things escalated, the manager tried brushing it off by trying to give us a table near the gents' restroom. We were not comfortable sitting there, as 2 of us were ladies. Kindly address the issue if you can. When we asked for a different table, the manager did not care and said we could look for a table ourselves. Pathetic attitude, and I don't understand how Naani's can hire such people. We went upstairs to look for a table.
6: We were allotted table #68. Since 40 minutes had already passed and most of the tables were full, we sat there. Later we observed that it was a place to keep all the brooms, and the staff was frequently cleaning and keeping their dirty brooms and mops right next to the place while we were eating, and it created a lot of dust and disturbance. I understand that hygiene is a requirement, but it cannot be next to a paying customer's table!
7: We ordered a north Indian thali, and the soup in the thali was very cold, and upon requesting for a new one, we were informed that we could not get a new bowl of soup.
8: At the end we approached the 1st floor manager, who was really prompt to get the brooms removed.
For anyone who is reading from the atrium mall management, if you really care for your customers, please check your CCTV footage for further information. Requesting prompt action to be taken. Will think many times before...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at NAANI'S Pure Veg , a haven for authentic Telugu cuisine that truly celebrates the flavors of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
If you’re a fan of traditional Telugu food, this place is a must-visit, though be prepared to spend a bit more for the experience. The menu is a love letter to Telugu culinary traditions, with a spotlight on their DOSAS and thalis. The dosa was a standout—crisp, golden, and perfectly fermented, served with a variety of chutneys and a fiery sambar that packed a punch. The masala dosa, in particular, was generously filled with a spicy potato filling that captured the essence of Telugu-style preparation. Every bite was a delightful balance of textures and bold flavors. The restaurant offers both South and North Telugu thalis, each a vibrant showcase of regional diversity. The South thali leaned heavily into Andhra’s fiery palate, with tangy rasam, spicy vegetable curries, and a lip-smacking gongura chutney that stole the show. The North thali, representing Telangana, was equally impressive with its rich, aromatic curries and perfectly cooked rice dishes. Both thalis came with an array of sides—papad, pickles, and a sweet to round off the meal—making them a wholesome and satisfying experience.
The only downside? The price. Both thalis are on the expensive side, which might give some diners pause, though the quality and portion size make it worthwhile for a special occasion. The atmosphere at NAANI'S is a major highlight. The decor blends traditional Telugu elements—like intricate woodwork and vibrant colors—with a modern, upscale touch. The warm lighting and comfortable seating create a welcoming and elegant vibe, perfect for families, friends, or even a cozy date night. The background music, featuring soft Telugu melodies, added to the immersive experience without being overpowering. Service was efficient and polite, though I wished the staff were a bit more knowledgeable about the dishes to enhance the cultural experience. Overall, The restaurant delivers an authentic Telugu dining experience with top-notch dosas, flavorful thalis, and a fantastic atmosphere. The slightly high prices are the only minor hiccup in an otherwise stellar meal. I’d give it a solid 4.5 out of 5 stars and recommend it to anyone craving a true taste of Telugu cuisine in a...
