After consulting friends for suggestions, we settled on a neighborhood place opened 5 months back in A S Rao Nagar a roof top place on 6th floor – Rasa Telangana designed in a homely village-style setting, which transported us to the authentic flavors of Telangana.
As soon as we walked in, the ambience was a treat for the eyes with earthy brown walls, vibrant paintings, cozy lighting, and a rooftop view.
Now, about the food. It was a nostalgia trip, like attending a Telangana dawat in our childhood. There was no fancy cooking here; it was pure authenticity, reminiscent of meals cooked by a dedicated cook at family functions rather than a culinary school graduated chef's creation.
The Keema balls were pure bliss with no unnecessary coating or flour added. The mutton soup was spicy and packed with flavor. The mutton curry paired with ragi mudda was a match made perfectly. Ended the meal with kunda junnu.
With such an extensive menu and just the two of us, we decided to plan a return trip to this hidden gem. Chicken Ghee Roast, got it packed to take it home
About the place It's refreshingly modest – no exquisite cutlery or fancy seating, just a dedication to the essence of home-cooked Telangana food. There's no emphasis on presentation either, and that's what makes it so special. It felt like a rooftop dhaba, simple and heartwarming. We hope they maintain this authentic taste because finding places that serve genuine Telugu food is quite the quest.
The staff, oh so courteous! A big shoutout to the person who attended to us, sending us off all the way to the lift.
In summary, a nostalgic journey, warm hospitality, and unbeatable Telugu flavors. We'll be back...
Read moreOur family recently had the pleasure of dining at Rasa Telangana, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. We started our meal with the Paya soup, a flavorful and hearty broth that set the tone for the culinary journey ahead.
For starters, we indulged in the chicken appetizers, which were cooked to perfection with just the right amount of spices and tenderness. The flavors were tantalizing, leaving us eager for more.
Moving on to the main course, we tried the Ragi Sangati and biryani. The Ragi Sangati, a traditional Telangana dish made from finger millet, was a delightful surprise. Its earthy flavors paired beautifully with the assortment of curries we ordered. The biryani was undoubtedly a highlight of the meal, with fragrant rice layered with tender meat and aromatic spices. Each bite was a symphony of flavors, showcasing the expertise of the chefs.
Throughout our meal, the service was impeccable. The staff was attentive and courteous, ensuring that our dining experience was seamless and enjoyable.
