Stone Waters - Kitchen & Lounge — Restaurant in Hyderabad

TL DR:- Stone Waters has bad food and worse service. Go to Exotica instead.

This place has gone to the drains. We used to frequently visit there till 2022 and both the food & service were awesome. One of the few places in Hyderabad that used to have authentic North Indian food. Staff were courteous and friendly. Back to 2024, we visited the place last Friday and were appalled at the complete change from our previous experiences. Firstly, if you go in as a couple (group of 2), they will not let you seat at the tables adjacent to the floor railing (from where you have the outside views and arguably the best seats in the restaurant). They will lie that these seats are reserved when actually the entire place was empty at around 8 PM. I had to argue with them and finally they gave us a corner seat which had the smallest table ever in any restaurant that I have visited. Secondly the food was horrible. The chicken starters tasted uncooked and had raw chicken smell. The dried chilli chicken was worse. Naam and butter chicken were ok ish. They will have items in the Menu but apparently some of them are not available. Like we wanted Mutton Biriyani but the staff said no. The less I tell about service the better and this really irritated me. Whenever we wanted something, we would have to shout at full volume to call the staff to take our orders or to clean our plates or to bring the menu. Multiple times they will see us waiving at them and they would simply ignore it. It is apparent that they have changed their staff (my guess is the cook also) and these people have zero training or understanding about customer service at a restaurant. Will never visit again. I am writing to provide feedback from my recent visit to your establishment with my colleagues.

Firstly, I would like to commend the ambiance of your venue. The rooftop setting was fantastic, and it truly enhanced the overall experience. Cleanliness was also a strong suit of Stone Water, with the staff regularly maintaining the space to ensure a spotless environment. The food prepared by your chefs was delicious and added to the enjoyable atmosphere. Additionally, the performance of the Nakshatra band was exceptional, and all the artists were highly talented. The staff provided excellent service throughout our visit, and it was much appreciated.

However, there was one issue that I would like to bring to your attention. During the billing process, the staff seemed to be demanding payment for the service charge, which I believe is not appropriate. Service charges are optional, and it should be left up to the customer to decide if they want to pay or not. Our bill was over 10 thousand, and the corresponding service charge was also substantial. When we politely asked the staff to remove it, they began to argue with us, which was not a positive experience. After much discussion, the service charge was eventually removed, but I feel that the staff should not have pressured us in the first place.

In conclusion, I kindly request that the Stone Water team not force customers to pay the service charge. Your hardworking staff provides excellent service, but it is important to remember that those visiting the establishment are also hardworking individuals.

The food tastes amazing with nominal prices, it's on the terrace with an amazing view of KBR park, nice and breezy. Good ambiance,. A beautiful place to take your girl for a date. The place can accompany small parties but not more the 15-20 people. As it'll be hard to club all the tables because there are tables for 4/6 across the area. The restaurant serves continental, italian and Indian food. Alcohol is also served for people above 21 Happy hours is from 12-5pm ( you get 1+1 bear) DJ is also played at night Not air conditioning only outdoor air ventilation if I'm not wrong The place can accommodate a maximum of 40-50 people Nights be would a better time to come rather than in the mornings There is no buffets. Alcohol priced reasonably Set in a prime location
