Kahanee Restaurant, Banipark – Disappointing Experience
I recently visited Kahanee Restaurant in Banipark with my family, which included my mother, wife, child, brother, and sister-in-law. Unfortunately, our experience was far from pleasant, starting from the moment we arrived.
Service Experience: Upon entering, we found an unreserved table and decided to sit down since there were no signs indicating it was booked. However, the restaurant manager, Arjun Singh, approached us and told us to leave and wait outside, stating he would call us when it was time. What made this interaction particularly disappointing was the tone in which he spoke. We found his behavior very rude and unwelcoming, especially since several tables were vacant at that time. This treatment left us feeling uncomfortable and disrespected, and my family decided that we will not return to this restaurant again.
Food Review: We tried both starters and main courses, but the overall taste was subpar.
• Starters: • Paneer Tikka: 3/5 • Dahi Ke Kebab: 3/5 • Bhutte Ke Kebab: 2/5 • Main Course: • Paneer Tikka Masala: 1/5 • Chef Special Dal: 0/5 (One of the worst dals I’ve ever had) • Veg Raita: 3/5
The food was highly disappointing. It lacked flavor, and the quality did not meet our expectations at all.
Overall Rating: This was a terrible experience, from the unprofessional behavior of the staff to the poor food quality. I would not recommend Kahanee Restaurant to anyone.

Read more"⭐⭐" "Kya humari kahanee bhi kisi ko sunaoge?" . Well, the answer is a BIG NO. No doubt the food was good, but still, no. . I won't recommend this place if you are planning to visit with family here on the weekend. Damn, the waiting time here after ordering food is 45–50 minutes. Though the waiters are forced to say that it usually takes 15-20 minutes on weekends, please don't trust them. . I'll request that the team work on the management part. It's highly disappointing. Also, the seating and table arrangements were so poor here. There is no cutlery on the table, and there is no cushion for the bench. We were repeatedly asking for it, but the management was so irresponsible. . In the end, we felt a bit relieved because the food was good. We liked it, but the waiting time was something to work on. . Now, when it comes to food, the starters were good, but the quantity was pretty average. It was not justifying the price. Also, please work on the menu. We ordered "lehsun ki chatney ki barni," but instead we got "katori." 110 rupees, for just a katori? Seriously? It's kind of misleading. . Anyway, we ordered butter roti, daal dhaba, malai kofta, and paneer lababdar with rice. It was really good. But the management...

The ambiance is simply stunning — a perfect blend of traditional Indian aesthetics with a modern touch. From the decor to the music, everything felt thoughtfully curated. I particularly loved the retro Indian songs playing softly in the background — just the right volume to enjoy your conversation and still feel the vibe.
One unique highlight: the spices used are hand-ground using a traditional hand-operated chakki — a small but meaningful detail that adds authenticity to the experience.
A special shoutout to Aman Faujdaar, who was more than just a server — he truly guided us through the menu, was attentive, cheerful, and genuinely helpful throughout our visit. It’s always refreshing to see someone enjoy what they do.
The menu itself is small but smart — not overwhelming, yet every item we tried was spot-on. Clearly a case of quality over quantity. Kudos to the Head Chef Shivlal for nailing the flavors and presentation. You can tell there's a lot of thought and passion behind each dish.
Highly recommend this place if you're looking for a memorable and soulful dining...
