With the sheer explosion in the number of cafes around Jaipur, it would be a perfectly valid question to ask "What's so different about this particular cafe?".
Though Jaipur has some wonderful cafes offering great beverages, aftera point they all start looking the same, tasting the same and offering a similar kind of menu. And here's where this quant little heritage cafe in Jaipur scores the brownie points.
Location: Finally a cafe not located in C-scheme or Malviya! I've honestly started dreading the parking nightmare, the incessant honking all around me and the dust and fumes of vehicles while trying to enjoy my cup of coffee. Located in peaceful Bani Park, Serai Brews felt so soothing and heling, and even the commute was traffic-free, even ona weekend!
Menu: Their coffee menu is quite generous to both hot and cold beverages, but bonus points to their summer options! The craft coffee mixes were incredible! After drinking a Shakerato I was left wondering how I spent so many years visiting numerous cafes without having a sip of this delicious drink! Please just trust me and try the Shakerato and the Vietnamese drip, no regrets whatsoever. The food menu is not the longest, but really shows how quality triumphs over quantity. It's impossible to go wrong with their pizza, spaghetti and the bruschetta. Goes so well with the coffee and they are happy to customise according to your taste.
Ambience: Though I love all the modern, trendy cafes but with one opening at every other corner, I've grown a bit tired of them all. I really believe a cafe must stick true to the spirit of the city they're located in, and Serai Brews REALLY does justice to that philosophy! It's a beautiful homage to the mediaeval serais - resthouses for travelers, and their quant architecture plus tastefuly done interiors make me believe I'm in a lovely cafe in this historic city of Jaipur.
