"Mad About Crust" – A Masterclass in Neapolitan Craft
As someone who has reviewed dozens of eateries across Jaipur, I say this with absolute certainty—Mad About Crust serves one of the finest Neapolitan pizzas in the city, if not the best. It’s not just pizza here; it’s an experience that borders on culinary nostalgia.
The moment the Picante pizza arrived, I knew we were in for something special. Fluffy, blistered crust, perfectly balanced tomato richness, real basil leaves, and cheese that melts into the soul—not just the mouth. You don’t eat this pizza with a fork and knife; you fold it like they do in Naples, because there’s simply no other way to do justice to that level of authenticity.
And just when I thought it couldn’t get better, the Chipotle pizza landed. Bolder, deeper in flavor, and somehow topping the Picante—this one is a must-order for anyone who loves a smoky kick.
We also tried the chef’s special ravioli pasta, bathed in a beautiful house sauce—elegantly done, delicately flavored, though I wouldn’t have minded a touch more quantity.
Piri Piri fries? Crisped to perfection, well-seasoned, and genuinely addictive. The Watermelon Mojito and Orange Pineapple Mojito were both refreshing—sweet without being syrupy, and balanced enough to complement every dish on the table.
Final Verdict: This place doesn’t just serve food—it respects it. If you love authentic Neapolitan-style pizza, real flavors, and a menu that gets the fundamentals right, Mad About Crust should be at the top of your list. Easily in my top 3 pizzerias in Jaipur, and possibly the #1 for those who care about true craftsmanship.
P.S. A special mention to Shanky, the chef-owner, whose journey from sound engineer to pizza craftsman shows not only in the food but in his presence. He’s polite, genuinely helpful, and humble—eager to guide, suggest better versions of your ideas, and make sure the experience feels personal. That kind of passion shows, and it deserves to...
Read moreWe recently visited Mad About Crust Pizzeria, and the experience was nothing short of delightful. Shanky has truly crafted a space and menu that perfectly reflects his passion and love for authentic Neapolitan pizza. His dedication shows not only in the food but also in the way he personally ensures that every guest has the best possible experience.
It was a rainy evening, and the cozy vibe paired with the food made it all the more perfect. For starters, we tried the Stuffed Garlic Bread and Truffle Parmesan Fries. The garlic bread was cheesy, warm, and incredibly satisfying – a perfect way to kickstart the meal. The fries were packed with flavor, though a little more consistency in frying would make them even better. Still, both dishes were delicious and left us excited for the mains.
Among the mains, we ordered the Tropical Feta, Wings of Lemon, and the Chef’s Special Ravioli. The Tropical Feta stood out with its well-balanced flavors and wonderfully crusty dough that spoke of authentic craftsmanship. Wings of Lemon was something unique – refreshing, light, and unlike the usual pizzas one comes across. The Ravioli, on the other hand, was intriguing, with a surprising twist of Indian spices woven into its flavors – a creative and memorable take on the classic dish.
We also tried the Orange Pineapple Mojito and Watermelon Mojito, both refreshing and a perfect match for the food. And finally, dessert – the Biscoff Cheesecake. Simply to die for! Creamy, rich, with just the right texture – the perfect sweet ending to a hearty meal.
Overall, Mad About Crust is a gem for pizza lovers, and with Shanky’s personal touch and in-house sauces, the place truly stands out. A must-visit for anyone looking to indulge in authentic flavors with warmth and...
Read moreWe ordered the Farm House Pizza.
While waiting for the order, you can clearly see the pizza oven from the sitting area and it was kinda cool as it builds up some expectation and also allows you to observe it being made.
First impressions was that the pizza was quite the looker. And yes, cuz this was a neapolitan, you'd have to fold it to eat it. It was soft to the point where we had to cutt off the front with a spoon and eat it first so it doesn't dangle.
As for the taste, I'll be honest, I think I went with some high expectations and that I'd be blown away or something but it was a more or less standard pizza experience, just a different one.
Again, when I say standard, I don't mean to say it wasn't good, and most definitely better than the all you can eat ones or ones where the layer leaves the crust the moment you take a bite.
The ingredients were fresh, cheese was the highlight and dough was soft to the point that when I ate it, I didn't even realize I was chewing it (that being said I'm not sure if that necessarily was a positive).
However, there's also the fact that I like many individuals, am more familiar with the crispy crust, so relative to that, perhaps it had more to do with it being a Neapolitan than the restaurant's execution of it.
Overall it was a satisfactory and a fresh experience, is how would describe it.
There wasn't anything particularly special about the flavour profile itself to the extent that I could perceptually resolve it.
Google doesn't have an option here for fractional rating but I'd prolly go with...
