This hotel was great for our family of four. Our plane didn’t land until 12 am and so we had contacted our the hotel to let them know around 3 pm that day. When we arrived at midnight it was very tough to wake up the staff and they were not prepared for us. They gave us two rooms even though we didn’t need two rooms. Yet that very next morning it was already sorted out before we woke up! They had our right room ready and we’re wanting to move us immediately. My husband and I went to walk around and orientate ourselves with the area. The hike to the nearby fort was steep but worth it you will see a small step well, kites flying, and much more of the local area. The breakfast was basic but delicious. After changing rooms we were approached about needing transportation. We had thought to look around by foot this day and get ideas from a few places. After our research the hotel was the exact same price, after a bit of bargaining, as on the street. 900 rupees for 9-5 to go to the fort, large step well, water palace, and other places my husband had on his list. THe hotel location is great for seeing the city palace and much more by foot if you are active. We have a 10 and 12 year old daughter and they did it easily. We did hire a tuk tuk driver to take us to the water palace this first day and he was nice, but then was quite persistent on visiting his textile factory and then his friends fabrics store oh and then then place he wanted us to try and eat at. Finally he dropped us at the city palace and we finished our touring. Back at the hotel we agreed with the hotel manager to take his tuk tuk offer. We assumed he would be our driver but this is a poor assumption. He unfortunately was not. The driver, name was Lucky, got started the ride by showing us his reviews and comments from past riders. The most recent was 2018! I was alarmed right away. Then as him and my husband talked about for the third time where we wanted to go he wanted to take us somewhere else. This happened so often, as well as telling us we bought bad poor rugs the day before we needed to go to his place, how much we paid for the hotel, rugs, anything we did how much was always the question he asked. When I told him I did not want to talk about money at all he then said “yes ok but just tell me how much?” Finally he took us to the fort. We got out early due to so much traffic and walked to the fort. Spent two hours exploring then went up to the Jaipur palace we explored another house. We called and called for the 30 to 45 minute trek down from the highway point. Our driver and he never answered so we walked to the large step well. After exploring here 20 minutes the driver called. He would meet us there. He arrived 30 minutes later. I have no idea where he was but it wasn’t at the fort since traffic was a lot less since we had arrived 4 hours earlier. We tried to cut our loss and have him take us to a place our girls had picked for lunch and be done with this driver BUT he was relentless. He didn’t want to take us to the place our girls found. He knew a better place and he kept turning the wrong way. We had to stop twice for my husband to show him that we knew it was wrong. We arrived with still two hours paid for the driver left and just paid him and aid we were done. We ate and walked out of the restaurant and hour later and he was still there! I called an Uber and went away! So basically the hotel is great and worth the money for a self walking tour, breakfast, and more. But don’t use the driver without a confirmation of whom or your...

The rooms are spacious and clean, with beautiful floors, high ceilings, and large comfortable beds. Best of all is the rooftop which offers an unobstructed view of the entire Jaipur area and is always open for you to hang out.
Some might assume it’s a bit far away. In reality, this is a sheltered oasis from the noise and traffic, yet also walking distance to the city palace, wind palace, and Nahargarh fort (obviously).
What’s more, you’re in a great local neighbourhood with a real sense of community. Step outside and you’ll see vendors selling fruit, food, and whatever else you need. I never felt unsafe walking around: everyone was extremely friendly. Tuk tuk drivers are always waiting at the street corner.
Everything you’d normally expect is phenomenal, but what makes it truly special is the staff. They will go above and beyond to help you with whatever you need. In particular, Narendra helped me out a lot. So many times he drove me to different parts of the city, took me on fantastic tours to nearby tourist spots outside of Jaipur. He did all this at extremely reasonable rates - and often it was completely complimentary. It’s very possible that you will leave this hotel feeling a bit guilty hahaha… They do so much for you and yet the price is so low.
For me, staying at Nahargarh Palace actually made my trip something more then I expected. I left Jaipur with the feeling that I have friends I will...
