Biggest disappointment ever. I was looking forward to eating there and chose the place carefully from the great reviews on trip advisor. Unfortunately, Horrible food. Horrible service. I went there with 2 friends, we are from Canada and Europe. The reviews are great so we expected good food and service. We ordered the Mexican platter and the “nachos” were nothing but some corn chips from a bag. Then we got the bruschetta that was fine but still mediocre. The quinoa risotto was okay but for 315 rupees, a rip off. We also ordered the mushroom panini vegan. It took then 30 minutes to bring the panini and they brought it with cheese. When I told the manager, he said he will remake it. As we had already been waiting for 30 mins and I am not vegan thankfully and I had already taken a bite (that’s when we saw there was cheese) me who is not vegan asked him to leave that one as I didn’t want to wait another 30 minutes. The waiter didn’t speak English so he brought the manager and the manager said if he leaves the mistake panini that i had already taken a bit from he has to charge us. So he took the already partially eaten panini and we waited another 15-20 minutes to get it. Now this panini was also quite basic and not at all worth the money. The food is all frozen low quality “western food”, the portions are small and this kind of hospitality is insulting. I didn’t even pay for the panini. I would have if the manager would have left us the mistake one as courtesy like any good restaurant should. This place looks amazing and cute but the food is bad quality and overpriced as well as bad service. They charge you western prices but don’t live up to the quality. Not to mention everything is served in single use plates and spoons. Horrible place in my opinion. Everything that’s wrong with the word and society in one place. Edit after restaurant comment: I don’t know what you consider misbehaving. I explained very peaceful to the waiter that I am not paying for the panini because it was too long to get it and the food was very low quality. I paid for the platter that was also low quality and the risotto plus gst and left. I don’t see how that’s misbehaving. Maybe you feel you need to write that to justify someone that actually knows what good food tastes complaining. And FYI EVEN IF YOUR PLATES ARE BIODEGRADABLE IT’S STILL NOT GOOD FOR THE PLANET ANYWAY BECAUSE OF PRODUCTION AND CREATING WASTE DAILY WHEN YOU ARE CHARGING 200+ RUPEES PER PLATE YOU CAN HIRE SOMEONE TO WASH DISHES. And THEY PROBABLY ALL COME IN PLASTIC PACKAGING! Again everything wrong with society. People think because plates are biodegradable it’s fine to have single use items. The level of ignorance in food, health and ecology from this restaurant really disgusts me. And if nothing is frozen, it’s from a can. It’s...
Read moreFantastic place. You can sit and talk for long hours without break and without the usual hustle and bustle of the secrétariat right across the street.
Now to the usual review:
Food - 4 Plentiful and served well. Yes the spices may not match your taste, but yes the mess can be managed. The menu basically covers everything you might want to eat. I ordered a Mamma Rose (pink pasta) and corn chat (fried sweet corn with raw tomatoes, onions and green chili). Had to add Italian seasoning to the pasta and a little salt and lemon juice to the corn. Overall it ended up perfectly. And yes I really loved the pasta. Not everyone these days end up making it that far. Beverages are ok, I ordered cappuccino and that was it.
Ambience - 5 It's the best I've seen in recent times. It's an old house converted to a café. Old rooms end up making seperate section within the café and the outer garden offers outdoor sitting and a selfie spot. The walls throughout are painted in yellow and black with wall art everywhere. Sunlight comes in through the windows and lighten up the entire indoor making It more lively and bright. They also offer books and other games to kill some time.
Service - 5 The staff serving us was very humble and prompt in his service. The floor was occasionally wiped clean after anyone left. The best part was when he returned to enquire over the feedback form asking what could be done and what was the thing that bothered me.
Overall it's a very good place and highly recommend. Make sure you reach well before your lunch date so as to find a parking for your car particularly during working hours. I'm definitely gonna...
Read moreWe went to this cafe after reading reviews on all platforms with high hopes and it was not even close to our expectations or the reviews everywhere. I ordered an Alfredo pasta and it looked like it was cooked hours ago and just heated in the microwave and served! Half n hour later I started feeling a discomfort in my throat so it was either the butter or some other ingredient that messed with my throat. Looked like everything added to the pasta was canned and not fresh.
Giving basic cutlery to eat with is a bare minimum requirement and all we could eat with were “biodegradable” spoons and forks. The amount of waste that they’re generating by using use and throw cutlery must be crazy. Water was served in paper cups! I read a lot of things online, about it’s ambience but really did not find anything exceptional about it. It was in fact shabby and stinky with smoke smell. There are a million better places you can visit when you’re in Jaipur and maybe avoid this one!
PS- May get a passive aggressive reply on this review from the owners like they have on some other reviews but they’d rather take the criticism and make an...
