Read moreA tough choice between 2 and 3 stars.
I had read several reviews of this place on Zomato and Google - and most recent reviews gave a poor rating primarily on account of staff behavior and service - the food had mixed reviews ranging from average to good.
After several attempts, I was able to finally land here with some friends on a Saturday lunch.
The place wasn't very crowded, there was devotional/ religious music on along with big religious and cultural art and displays - giving a holy ambience matching with the holy sounding name.
The menu is primarily a large assortment of thalis - from Rajasthani (variety within Rajasthani as well - Dal Baati, Bikaneri, Jodhpuri etc.) to South Indian. There are some mini-meal combos and A-La-Carte as well.
Most of the thalis are quite big even for a person with a healthy appetite and the good part is that the restaurant is okay if you share thalis within a family or group and order some add-ons.
One of the repeated complaints online was that they do not actually provide a few things out of the big description of each thali - they miss out on certain things (not sure if it's intentional or plain carelessness - both ways it's not ethical). Since we had read this - we closely monitored and found it to be be true - we had to push the staff and remind him again and again for missing items.
The place wasn't very clean - especially the seats. The ACs weren't working too well. The staff was neither well trained - nor motivated. Not even aware of their menu - didn't know how to take orders - how to follow up and ensure nothing is missing at his table - not suggesting us to order anything other than we ordered - 'I care a damn' attitude. The owner and the senior staff were present just outside the restaurant at a Sharbat stall but had no interest in entering inside and trying to find out if the clients were being served well or was everything alright.
The food was 'average to above average' if you are not a native Rajasthani. It was 'below average' if you are well versed with Rajasthani cuisine from your childhood.
The pricing is appropriate.

They wash your hands with water soaked in neem and put a saffron mark on the forehead while bhajan plays in the background.
The outlet is based on pure traditional Indian theme with even dishes named according to the theme. They have the Huge size Thali named as "Mahaprasadam" which is for 1100.
Visit 1: We took Rajasthani thali and they served the food in brass thali with Bowls made of dried leaves. Theme wise it's amazing but the food was not upto mark. In no way i was satisfied with the food.
Visit 2: I was not much hungry so just ordered a Masala Dosa. While ordering the waiter told me that i need to order more coz they don't allow people to share food, listening which i was totally surprised. I told him to serve whatever we're ordering and the rest all is our problem. Dosa was Good and sambhar was cooked properly with Nice flavor. 1 thing that i felt wrong was the filling of Dosa. The potatoes in the filling were too sweet and it was ruining the complete flavor. This potato issue is not something which is permanent but as a restaurant they shouldn't be committing such mistakes. If it hadn't been for the filling, that dosa deserves 5 star.
After we were done eating i asked them to provide bill to which they orally said that the owner was away and he can't product bills of pre-booking with discounts, he didn't knew how to operate the billing machine. The amount which i was told was way more than it should be so i asked him for physical bill. After getting the things in written got to know they had charged for wrong dishes. They apologized for it and produced final bill.
I was supposed to pay through Dineout pay as i had a pre-booking from Dineout, but they refused to accept payment through Dineout.
I have been to their outlet in Malviya nagar which i found to be way better in everything even though their prices are higher for the...
