I had a few friends endlessly rave about India hotel and the food served there. So this time while i was in Ranchi , I had India hotel on my to do list. It was not difficult reaching the place as everyone seemed to know where it is. However, the hotel was tucked inside a very busy and crowded. On first reaching there, it was hardly what i had imagined. It was a small hotel done up minimally. We first ordered plain rice and Mutton. The mutton was absolutely out of this world and blew my mind. The best mutton ever. The mutton was cooked to perfection and was falling off the bone. The taste of that rice dunked into the gravy is one that i will never forget. The mutton was mild but flavourful and a definite must have. Next up i ordered some fish (rohu) . This was a curry based fish, slightly spicy. It made a good combo with the rice. No Bengali food is ever complete without fish so next up, i ordered both fried fish. In my opinion the fried fish were okay. I have had much better fried. By the time we had reached the place, most of the dish were sold out. Wished we could have tried out more varieties.
