2nd visit I had a very good experience on my first visit. But the second visit (recently) has been disappointing. Taste was overall good, although there is not much of variety in Bengali food items. But while serving the food, the people were in so much hurry that they were not even willing to wait for us to finish our starter. We were eating the starter - and they were serving rice, dal, etc. at the another part of the table. Moreover, they were wiping the plates with bare hands. Finally, the price. 2 plates each of Rice, and fish curry + one plate of starter, dal and alu fry costed us Rs. 1700. This is just too much. They were claiming "BIG" pomfret fish, but actually fishes were quite small. Reducing my earlier 5-start rating to 3-star now. We will visit some other place next time.
1st visit We visited this place on 14th April, which was Bengali New Year Day. We took simple Bengali non-veg thali - and it was an excellent experience. Authentic taste. Ilish bhapa and mutton curry were superb. Even the mug dal was very nice. Ambience was good. Above all, the courteous attitude of the owner prompts me that I must visit this place again. My only suggestion is - the menu card should be enriched with more Bengali dishes. Highly...
Read moreToday (16 December 2024) me and my wife visited Recipe (Taste of Town) and had a great taste of original Bengali cuisines. We are aged couple and so we ordered simple Bengali foods - steamed soft rice, mung dal, alu-posto and Katla fish prepared with mustard paste. We were served with hot and freshly prepared items. The owner himself looked after the services provided with all warmth of heart, affection and great care. The quality of foods, the ambience, the behaviour and the quality of work of the resturant serive providers, were excellent. Our co-eaters were also a nice Bengali family. We were eating with lots of friendly chatting and fun among ourselves. The foods as well as the atmosphere were very much enjoying and gave us immense joy and pleasure. We failed to have such a nice experience, hadn't we visited 'Recipe'. We never thought that at Jamshedpur, a place far away from Bengal, as also from Kolkata, we found such a nice resturant offering original Bengali foods. We wish we will visit this eatery, if we come Jamshedpur again. Dr.Omprakash...
Read moreWhile visiting Jamshedpur from Kolkata, I was craving authentic Bengali food, and Recipe Restaurant did not disappoint! The flavors were absolutely incredible. We had Moong Dal, Mocha, Aloo Posto, and Chicken Kasha —all of which were cooked to perfection, with that true Bengali taste.
To end the meal, we had Rosogolla, Papad, Chatni, and Mishti Doi, and each dish was delightful. The sweetness and the consistency of the Mishti Doi and the freshness was just heavenly.
If you are in Jamshedpur and want an authentic Bengali dining experience, I highly recommend Recipe Restaurant. A must-try for...
