Restaurant Review: Chick n Chick, Kannur
Located conveniently near the Kannur railway station, Chick n Chick offers a typical Kerala dining experience. On my visit, I sampled their porotta and fish curry, and my experience was a mixed bag.
Starting with the food, the porotta was quite good—soft, yet on the heavier side, making it a filling option. The fish curry, featuring fresh mackerel, was flavorful and satisfying. The fish's freshness was evident, and the curry had the perfect balance of spices.
However, the dining experience took a turn for the worse with the tea. It was, without a doubt, the worst tea I've ever had. In Kerala, we have a term for such poorly made tea: "Vaata chaya." It was weak, watery, and lacked the robustness one expects from a good cup of tea. If you're planning to visit this restaurant just for tea, I strongly advise against it—you'll leave disappointed.
The restaurant's infrastructure also leaves much to be desired. There is no toilet facility, which is a significant downside for any dining establishment. The washing area is extremely small, and the dining space itself is quite cramped, making the whole experience feel uncomfortable.
Given these drawbacks—the lack of basic facilities, the cramped space, and the terrible tea—I find it hard to recommend Chick n Chick to anyone. While the food may be decent, the overall experience leaves much...

Never the less both new and old Chick n Chick have good tasty food to offer at affordable rates.. I tried both old and new Chick n Chick hotel's Beef fry and Porotta.
Both were different in taste😋.. But both were delicious.. So people going to this place.. Look at the board also.. The new location of the old Chick n Chick ( confusing?😂 ) has a bit more dining space and is cleaner.. But the old location with new management serves in banana leaf and staff are more friendly in the old location 😉.

Read moreThis was my second visit to Chick n Chick Restaurant, and once again, it didn’t disappoint. I had their porotta, beef fry and chicken chukka, all of which were very tasty. Their porotta, served in a banana leaf along with chicken gravy, adds a nice touch to the meal.
The food here is consistently good, which is why I chose to return. Prices are quite reasonable. The only drawback is the parking situation; it’s manageable if you’re on a two-wheeler but challenging otherwise. The restaurant is also quite crowded, but as someone who loves trying variety tastes, I managed to find a seat.
Sharing photos from both my recent visit and today’s visit to give you a glimpse of the delicious food and vibe. If you love flavorful dishes, this place is worth...
