This is a century old breakfast spot in Kannur which is more or less the same still. The menu is consistent and limited. The place is exactly opposite the main entrance of Kannur Railway station. They serve puttu (steamed rice cake) with accompaniments. Mutton curry is famous. A full mutton curry is 240. Two pieces of Puttu, a single (half) mutton curry (with unlimited gravy) and a good tea, will cost you a total of Rs.160. Food is delicious. The place is very unassuming, lacking even a title board. The waiters are all old school middle aged men in their lungees. They are a friendly bunch who serve their regulars and don't really appeal to any of the new world marketing flares on food. The place might not look super hygienic because of the rustiness but trust me, you'll never get a stomach upset with their food. Very simple people and a very simple place which refuses to run along with time and stays comfortable at their little, but important place in the town.
If you are at Kannur and want to eat there, just go. You won't have a big parking space for cars. Just go by bike or an auto. Just be one of us, go there and eat. You will not regret the experience. It's like momentarily running back in time effortlessly. The menu can be seen in the photos...

Food:
The hotel is famous for their mutton chaps and putt. Half portion is enough for a person and the quantity is well enough for the putt.
If you want extra putt, they will serve extra gravy of the mutton. Who does that really!
Haf portion of mutton chaps is just 100rs and it’s hot served making it worth every penny you pay.
Putt might seem a bit hard, but it’s good!
Pros:
-Service is top-notch and they care for you The malayalam music from the 80’s is perfect with the hotel and it’s evergreen old interior. Food is YUMM! -Everything in their menu is reasonably priced
Cons:
-You might struggle a bit with parking -If you really care about the hygiene, some might feel it’s not the best. But an old fashioned hotel at this rate, i would never complain.
if you are in Kannur, this is a must try...
