Have had tryst with Kanpur for last 25 years . In a place that has never really evolved much on food front, this one restaurant is an Oasis having been around for a 100 years. Owned by. 5-6th generation Chinese, the family’s ancestors migrated to India during British period. Peter and his family have been cooking authentic Chinese meals and believe me folks I would not hesitate to hop on to a train from Delhi to just land up at Shanghai for savouring and filling up on the delicious food . Highly recommended! . We tried Shang-Hai Special Mein, Fried Me- Fan (Chicken Me Fan), Chilli Fish and Chilli Pork. . Shang-Hai Special Mein: This is the best noodles that I have in Kanpur. It was very flavourful, well balanced and really tasty. Contains egg and topped with shredded chicken. Love the flavour. . Chicken Me Fan: This was also really nice. The noodles were very much silky and tasty. This was actually rice noodles, full of flavours, topped with shredded chicken. You don't need any sauce it was so tasty ☺️. . If you are looking for Chinese in kanpur, then this is the best place. Located in a prime area, this small Dinner style restaurant has won me over. The food served here is absolutely delicious and for a person like me who likes Chinese, I can eat this all day.

My personal favourites are:

Sliced chicken clear soup which is an egg drop soup base with chicken.

Egg chicken Hakka noodles which are very fragrant and have a generous helping of spring onion.

Chicken Foo Yong which is a chicken and vegetables based omelette.

I have been to this place multiple times and only wished that it was closer to where I stay.

The owner is also a nice person who recommends awesome dishes...
