The Chocolate Room — Restaurant in Kanpur

My recent visit to The Chocolate Room left me thoroughly dissatisfied. I had my heart set on enjoying a comforting cup of hot chocolate hazelnut, but alas, I was handed a cup of hot coffee hazelnut instead. The glaring disparity between what I ordered and what was delivered was disheartening, to say the least.

Upon expressing my concern to the staff, I was met with a rather nonchalant response that the menu was outdated. This revelation not only displayed a lack of attention to detail but also raised questions about the establishment's commitment to providing accurate and current information to its customers. A menu is essentially a contract between the customer and the business, and I believe it's reasonable to expect the items listed to be available as described.

As if this weren't enough, the interaction took a nosedive when I inquired about the appropriate payment for the substituted beverage. The unprofessional reply from the worker was both shocking and unacceptable. To be told, "It's up to you what you pay for, but this is what we have," is not only dismissive but reflects a blatant disregard for customer satisfaction and a lack of accountability.

In a service-oriented industry like this, one would expect a more customer-centric approach, where mistakes are acknowledged, rectified promptly, and compensation or adjustments are offered as a gesture of goodwill. Unfortunately, my experience at The Chocolate Room left me feeling undervalued as a customer, and the overall ambiance of the place was overshadowed by the unprofessionalism displayed by the staff.

I recently visited the Chocolate Room in Kanpur, and I can confidently say that every dessert I tried there was beyond heavenly. From their mouthwatering crepes and delectable waffles to their irresistible donuts, every treat was a delight for my taste buds. Not only did they excel in desserts, but their appetizers like nachos and cheese sandwiches were also incredibly tasty.

When it comes to the ambiance, the Chocolate Room truly knows how to create a cozy and inviting atmosphere. Soft music playing in the background as soon as you climb the stairs adds to the relaxing and pleasant experience. Although the stairs may seem a bit tricky and intimidating at first, once you enter the bakery, you'll be greeted with a comforting and cute ambiance.

Food items are good, but when I visited there was lot of mismanagement in service. There shud be one person available on the upper floor at all times and he shud communicate the order via mobile phone to the ground floor rather than keep going up and down.

The way they serve coffee is super inconvenient. The cup is so pathetic in design utility and convenience wise. Also, it seems they wish to kill their customers by making them drink too much coffee. What is the need of so much coffee? And if you have to serve that much, have a coffee in smaller size also available!

Updated: So, they are charging around 200 INR for a Cappuccino and putting in far less coffee than what would be considered a minimum! They deliver their hot coffee in a plastic bottle! Their cooling is insufficient....
