Visited the pub over the weekend as it was a long hot day and it is located quite near our apartment. It is a quaint Mangalore style building which must have been someone's home in the olden days. Now situated on one of the noisiest streets in Mangalore, it has been converted into a busy pub which offers seating inside as well as outside.

While I would have preferred a table outside, it was quite hot even after sundown and the traffic noise/ dust was too disturbing.

While the interior of the pub is air-conditioned, the comfort factor was reduced by the music which was being played at a very high volume. We got ourselves a table in the "jugli", which is how the first room (normally left open on the sides or protected with grills) would have been described in the olden days.

The table next to ours was soon occupied by a family comprising of an old couple, presumably their daughter and a grand daughter all of 10 years old. What the kid was doing in a pub escapes me, but she soon enough got busy with a video call on her mother's mobile phone and informed the world that she was at the beach ???

Having slaked our thirst on some chilled beer we also ordered some short eats including chicken nuggets/ fries etc. I had been hungering for a burger for some time and we decided to try out the chicken steak burger as listed in the menu. The burger was served with chips and a coleslaw salad. With reference to the burger, I have made better at home.

BTW the menu consists of a long list of items composed in about point 12 type printed onto foolscap sized sheets which are sandwiched under the glass on the table top. Considering my eyesight and the dim lighting in the pub I had to use my mobile phone torch to decipher the menu and order the drinks/ food.

The serving staff was too busy to actually do any serving at the table. The drinks/ food were just brought to the table and then we had to do the honours.

There is no parking available nearby the pub, especially for 4 wheelers. When we visited the pub around 8.00 PM we saw a row of scooters/ bikes parked impudently right under the no parking sign installed by the local administration in front of the pub. Maybe everyone was aware that the cops were also enjoying their...

Ambiance: A good café typically has a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere. The interior design, seating arrangements, lighting, and decor contribute to the overall ambiance. Depending on the concept and theme of the café, it can be cozy, trendy, or quirky.

Service: Friendly and attentive service plays a crucial role in enhancing the dining experience. Prompt and courteous staff who are knowledgeable about the menu and can offer recommendations add value to the overall visit.

Menu Variety: A diverse menu with a range of options is appreciated by customers. Whether it's breakfast, brunch, lunch, or dinner, having a variety of dishes, including vegetarian and non-vegetarian options, can cater to different tastes and dietary preferences.

Food Quality: The quality and taste of the food are of paramount importance. Fresh ingredients, well-executed recipes, and flavorsome dishes are key indicators of a good café. Consistency in taste and presentation is also essential.

Overall Experience: The overall experience encompasses all the aspects mentioned above, including the ambiance, service, menu variety, and food quality. A positive experience leaves a lasting impression and encourages...

More Than Just a Spot, It's an Experience (Especially the Kheema Rice!) this spot nails the "hangout" part perfectly. It's the kind of place where conversations flow easily and you can genuinely unwind with friends or even just chill solo with a book.

But let's be honest, while the atmosphere is fantastic, the real reason you absolutely must visit is the Kheema Rice. Seriously, stop what you're doing and listen. This dish is not just good, it's legendary.

Forget everything you think you know about kheema rice. This is on another level. The rice itself is perfectly cooked – fluffy, fragrant, and each grain seems to soak up the incredible flavors of the kheema. And the kheema! Oh, the kheema! It's rich, deeply spiced, and bursting with savory goodness. You can tell they use quality ingredients and a real passion in the kitchen. It's not greasy or heavy, just perfectly balanced and utterly addictive. Each bite is an explosion of flavour that leaves you wanting more. Come for the hangout spot, stay for the incredible vibe, and absolutely, unequivocally, MUST TRY the Kheema Rice. You won't regret it. Five stars just for...

Visited this restaurant with high hopes, but was left deeply disappointed. From the get-go, the service was below par. We had to repeatedly clarify our order, but despite our efforts, mistakes persisted. One glaring error was the serving of raw chicken - a basic oversight that's inexcusable in any dining establishment. To make matters worse, on pointing out a previous incorrect meal, it felt as though the extreme seasoning in the subsequent dish was an intentional jab. The only saving grace was the kheema rice, which was flavorful and well-prepared. However, a good meal is not just about the food, but the overall experience. Unfortunately, the lackluster service marred the ambiance and overshadowed the sole decent dish. I truly hope they address these issues for the sake of future patrons.

This is the closest you can get to Mondegar's of Bombay. A quaint pub for beer lovers, as they serve no other spirit. Take a few pitchers, a tower or a bottle, with a service that's always as humble as the place. A courtyard setting where you feel homely and always welcomed. The way they have set the tables is extremely clever. It's not intrusive, yet you can say a Hello to someone sitting nearby. Good mix of people, largely college going crowd, without making the older fellas feel out of place. The food is alright and nothing much to write about it. The chinese spread is recommended and don't miss the Peri Peri Wedges. For a bi-annually Mangalore visitor, i haven't found the joy in any other pub in the city. For me, all roads with friends will lead to Froth On Top. Cheers.

This is an old house converted to a beer pub. Firstly you will be greeted by a friendly security guard who will help you to park your vehicles. The parking space is not much but manageable. You have front porch seating, family room, smoking and no-smoking rooms. I tried pork pepper which became my favorite. Chilli chicken sausage was good but not great. I didn't like chicken salad as it had too much of mayonnaise. In mocktails I tried pinacolada and San Francisco and both were good but more on the sweeter side. The best part is the table where they have arranged menus in such a way that you can view the menu from all 4 sides of the table. I found this unique and very smart. Also this place is full of doodle art, and jokes put in a frame, even in washrooms🤭
