Nestled in the vibrant Electronic City of Bangalore, Geeta Kitchens is an vegetarian street food haven that takes you on a delightful culinary journey through the diverse flavors of India. As a food enthusiast, I was eager to explore the authentic and tantalizing street food offerings this restaurant had to offer, and it did not disappoint.
Upon entering Geeta Kitchens, you are immediately greeted by the warm and inviting ambiance that reflects the essence of Indian street food culture. The rustic decor, adorned with some traditional artwork, adds to the charm of the place, transporting you to the bustling streets of India.
The menu at Geeta Kitchens is a treasure trove of vegetarian street food delights from different regions of India. It showcases the rich culinary heritage and the vibrant array of spices that make Indian cuisine so captivating. From the moment we perused the menu, we were overwhelmed with options that promised to tantalize our taste buds.
To start our culinary adventure, we ordered the "Filter Coffee," a popular street food beverage down South as we savored the "Dosa Platter," which showcased the versatility of this South Indian specialty. The dosa, a thin and crispy pancake made from fermented rice and lentil batter, was served with a variety of chutneys and sambar. The dosas were perfectly cooked, golden and crispy on the outside while soft and fluffy on the inside. The accompanying chutneys and sambar elevated the experience, offering a symphony of flavors that complemented the dosas beautifully. Accompanied with the crispy "Wada" and the steaming hot "Idly" gave us the ultimate taste of South India.
Moving on to North, we couldn't resist trying the "Chole Bhature" and the "Chilly Paneer." The Chole Bhature, a popular North Indian dish, featured fluffy deep-fried bread (bhature) served with spiced chickpeas (chole). The combination was hearty and satisfying, with the spiced chickpeas adding a burst of flavors. The Paneer Chilly, a street food classic, was a delightful fusion of succulent paneer (cottage cheese) mixed with tangy sauces. It was a true celebration of flavors and textures. The "Katori Chaat" and "Dahi Puri" made us all revved up for some foodgasmic pleasure. Next came the paratha's with Hot Dal Tadka & mild Navratan Korma. The curries had distinct flavours and very indulging too.
We moved a little West, and could taste the Mumbai style "Pav Bhaji" which was mouth watering and a perfect end to our journey around the Indian street food map. For dessert, we indulged in the "Kesari Bhat," a traditional South Indian sweet, very typical to Karnataka. The rich, creamy, and slightly grainy texture, with a balanced sweetness that is not overly heavy. The aromatic flavors of saffron and ghee blend harmoniously with the subtle sweetness, making it an irresistible treat for those with a sweet tooth.
The service at Geeta Kitchens was friendly and attentive, with the staff eager to assist in navigating the menu and making recommendations based on personal preferences. In conclusion, Geeta Kitchens is a haven for Indian vegetarian street food enthusiasts in Bangalore's Electronic City. With its authentic flavors, diverse menu, and inviting ambiance, it captures the essence of India's vibrant street food scene. So, if you're craving a culinary adventure that celebrates the richness of Indian vegetarian cuisine, Geeta Kitchens is the place to be. I entered restaurant at 7:42 and stepped out in 10 mins. I ordered 1 Vada and 1 Poori. They gave me Vada and i started eating, to say frankly being a South Indian and local Kannadiga it no where had taste of Vada. And sambar was not sambar it was like a juice, too much sweet. I finished my Vada and asked for Poori, it was almost 10 mins after giving token they had still not started at all with preparation of Poori. When I asked again he said to be seated for 10 mins and they will now start preparing. Actually it should happen during busy time or over crowded with orders, but i was the only person in hotel and only my order was in queue. Those workers were just discussing on their past night experience and so on so forth stories. They might have time, but they have to ensure they don't waste others time right. Then I walked to billing counter to cancel my Poori, for that the guy says take whichever is kept ready. He can't decide what I have to eat right. If during order itself he would have said then I would have gone to the hotel where it will be served. Considering sambar taste i didn't wanted to spoil my interest on food, then cancelled and had tasty Poori in my frequently visited hotel in 13th cross.
Frankly to say, all South Indian menu can't be prepared by all cooks. So if you really want to run a business, then hire expert on those specific fields. Try to get few foods prepared from them during initial meet and taste those and eat, you yourself like it, then you will be feeling how the customers would feel when they eat. So that you can earn more and more customers and can create a branding.
I would never ever again visit your hotel and spoil my food...
