Disappointing Experience – Not Worth the Hype

I don’t normally leave bad reviews, but this restaurant truly missed the mark.

To start, the place did not feel clean — sticky tables, floors that looked like they hadn’t been swept in days, and an unpleasant odor coming from the kitchen area. It was hard to enjoy the atmosphere when basic hygiene was clearly lacking.

The food? Even worse. What was supposed to be a hot, fresh meal came out lukewarm and bland. The ingredients didn’t taste fresh at all — the vegetables were soggy, the meat was overcooked and dry, and nothing had any real flavor. It felt like it had been sitting out too long before being served.

Service was slow, and when I politely mentioned the food wasn’t great, the waiter just shrugged. No apology, no offer to fix it. Very disappointing.

I was traveling from Karwar to mangalore with my friends. We chose to go to Murudeshwar because of its wonderful seafood and beach. When we asked a local about the best restaurants, they suggested this hotel because of its wonderful selection of non-vegetarian food and fresh seafood. Even at 10:30 PM, when we went, there was a huge rush. After waiting for thirty minutes, we were seated on the second level. We placed a large order for both vegetarian and non-vegetarian cuisine. The chicken biryani had a unique cooking method and a delicious flavour. I haven't tried that kind of biryani before. We reached here for seafood after enquiring with locals. This is quite popular place amongst locals. We ordered Veg. Hot and Sour soup, Surmai (King Fish) Thali, Sea Shell (CLAMS) Sukkha Masala. The Veg. Hot and Sour soup was made up of some cheap ready to make soup sachets , as its not their speciality. But Surmai Rawa fry and sea Shell Sukkha Masala were best. Fish was fresh, crunchy fried. Overall food quality is good. The eatery is not very hygienic. The service is quick. Prices are very affordable. We spent around INR 500 for two persons.
