RiseUp Coffee Shop — Restaurant in Karnataka

I got to know about this place through the owner of the serviced apartment I stayed at, who highly recommended their coffee. On my last day in Chikkamagaluru, while heading back and in a rush, I stopped here to try it out.

I ordered two filter coffees—first the billing was done wrong, but the lady quickly fixed it and charged me ₹120 for both. The coffee itself was nice (not exceptional, but a good cup of filter coffee). However, the takeaway containers were disappointing—by the time I reached my vehicle, they were dripping and leaking from the hot coffee condensation.

I also picked up their 80/20 filter coffee powder and an instant hazelnut coffee powder. While we were asking a few questions about the products, the lady received a call (seemed important, from a doctor) and stayed on the phone the entire time while serving us. I didn’t mind much at that moment, but when it came to billing, I was surprised at how high the total was. Since I was in a rush and she was still on the call, I didn’t question it.

Later, while checking their website, I realised I was overcharged by at least ₹400–500. The filter coffee (250g) at ₹294 was correct, but the hazelnut instant coffee (100g) was billed at ₹575—whereas their website lists 850g at just ₹654.

It’s very disappointing to know this now, and I don’t think I can recover the money since I live far away. Coffee was good, but this experience left a bad impression.

PS (after owner’s reply): I never said you cheated me. My comment was based on what I saw on your website (screenshot attached). Under “Additional Information,” it clearly mentions 850g, so naturally anyone would assume that’s the listed weight for ₹654. Please don’t put words in my mouth. A simple clarification or acknowledgment of the website detail would’ve been enough — I would’ve happily updated my review and accepted it as a misunderstanding...

He is an extremely pleasant & charming personality. Come let's have a cuppa coffee together is his Tag-Line & you'll find it engraved on their serving counter too. You'll find not only a variety of flavours & choices of coffee with clearly seperated by their % of Coffee vs Chicory content & as if that was not enough they're also selling you the perfect brewing equipment in brass & Stainless Steel. High quality table top Filter devices. Fabulous experience to visit this Gem in the busy City...

One of the best coffee shop i found on the main road of chikmagalur. We tried both filter coffee and cold coffee, both were equally good. I should thank my friend for taking us there😃 there are no sitting option at the shop. U get to buy different varieties of coffee powder there along with varieties of coffee. Price is reasonable. If u are in town and looking for a quick sip of coffee to get urself refreshed, this is the place. Beware of parking rules, u got to park cars one side of the road and bikes the other side something like that, park accordingly. Hope you would enjoy!
