The Old Prax — Restaurant in Karnataka

The old prax is a legendary place. But the second you remove nostalgia, the place is just... Not it. The burgers are smaller. The patty of the KFC burger used to come out of the bun. The chicken steak burger had a very distinct flavour. The soup is still the same - and at one point it was FOUR RUPEES (anyone who knows, knows). And the place just isn't what it used to be. The taste is different. The food is very sub par. I used to go to prax 20 years ago, and while I believe owners kept changing over the years, there was a time when the food was one of the best in Mangalore.

The mayo that is put into every burger tastes different. And none of it in a good way. I remember the chicken roast used to have 2 massive pieces of chicken and it was super delicious. And now everyone wants to be KFC. Also, I had tried the prawns and it was extremely salty. It was the first time I tried something other than the burger or macaroni from prax. And I probably won't try it again.

I feel very sad. I will probably try it again in a year or so if I'm forced but... Maaann.. I wish you all could just taste the prax from 20 years ago. You don't know what you...

I've been visiting this place since 2006 and I've been loving it ever since, this place attracts a lot of college students as the place is pretty cheap. People mostly vist here for KFC burgers, KFC (peice of fried chicken a bun) and chicken macaroni. The quality of food has been gradually deteriorated and even the size of the burger patty has shrinked and the fries are countable. The ambience is pretty dull overall I'd rate this place 8/10.

Edit: looks like Prax has listened to their customers and improved the quality along with the price ofcourse, their KFC burger now has a good portion of fried chicken with sweet mayo and lettuce but the fries still remains the same (check photos for difference). I appreciate their effort in improvising...

We had ordered in zomato....it is very unfortunate to tell u that the service rendered by this restaurant is terrible and unsatisfactory...firstly we had ordered chicken cheese macroni but instead of this they sent fried rice... they asked us to rebook the order and asked not to pay... then began the trouble and asked to cancel the new order by repeated phone calls... finally when they sent the macroni order the delivery boy asked for the balance money which the restaurant had not payed...the macroni order was not up to the mark since it had become very cold by the time it reached us and also quantity of chicken was less...hope this incident does not repeat... and in future other customers do not face problems...
