Always a pleasure to visit an iconic/ old world charm hotel and appreciate their survival over the years. Started in 1944, they serve some lipsmacking south Indian fare at reasonable rates. Clean and tidy, fresh food and great coffee to gulpdown too. Most servers having been part of the journey for 25-30 years.
Tried their Onion bhajji, thatte idli, bonda soup and rava dosa besides coffee and Kashaya. All items were fresh and tasty. The chutney was good and so were the sagu and sambar.
Genial servers going the extra step to make it a good experience. Has a clean toilet and ample parking though in a relatively crowded area of old Mysore.
My recent visit to Nilgiris, stopped for lunch both ways. The bisi bele bath was superb and the dahi vada is one of the best I've had in a while. Dahi was perfect and the Vada soft too.
On the return tried Puliyogare and it felt like I was having a temple prasadam, perfect in every aspect. The curd rice was thick, creamy and yummy. The prices will make you smile more. I'll surely be...
Read moreVenkatesh Bhawan Hotel has always been known for its legacy and vintage charm, but it’s disappointing to see a lack of attention toward basic hygiene standards. During my recent visit, I noticed the servers dipping their fingers into drinking water glasses while serving, which is completely unacceptable from a hygiene standpoint.
Such practices not only affect the dining experience but also raise serious concerns about cleanliness and health safety. A reputed and long-standing hotel like Venkatesh Bhawan should ensure that proper hygiene protocols are followed by their staff at all times.
I truly hope the management takes immediate action to train their serving staff and maintain the standards expected from an establishment of...
Read moreI had visited for the first time and ordered a veg south Indian meal for lunch. Everything served was flavourless, served cold and the sambar, Daal, curries were very watery. Pathetic service to top it all.- The staff cannot handle a rush hour. People waiting for a table were looking into my plate and forced themselves on my table. I was asked to rush with my meals and leave for the next group of people barely within 10 mins of my arrival. I had ordered a Dosa and was waiting for the Dosa, but left without my order feeling ridiculed. The staff present didn't bother to pack my order or...
