Al Taza - Kaloor — Restaurant in Kerala

I visited your establishment, Al Taza, located opposite Lulu Mall in Ernakulam on 13th February 2024, at approximately 3:30 p.m. and was appalled by the abysmal customer service I encountered. Upon arrival in my scooter, I adhered to the instructions given by your front-end staff near the petrol pump and made my way to the designated customer seating area situated behind the petrol pump.

However, my attempt to park my scooter in an unobtrusive manner (there was plenty of space to park many cars there, especially it being a non rush hour on a working day) was met with an unacceptable confrontation by one of your employees, Alfaz—or so he claimed. Despite having captured his photo as evidence, I choose not to post it here out of respect for his privacy. His approach was loud, rude, and utterly disgraceful. I was instructed to relocate my scooter 100 meters away, despite following the directions provided by your staff to the seating area.

As a longstanding patron of Al Taza, cherished for its culinary offerings, this incident has left a sour taste in my mouth. The disrespect shown by your employee was not only shocking but has significantly marred my perception of your restaurant, compelling me to reconsider my patronage.

It is evident that your establishment is in dire need of a comprehensive overhaul in staff training, particularly in customer service etiquette. The behavior exhibited was far from acceptable; addressing customer concerns with such hostility is reprehensible.

I urge you to take this feedback seriously and implement necessary changes to rectify the glaring deficiencies in customer interaction. Failure to do so will not only tarnish your reputation but also deter loyal customers...

It is very simple to find the most tasteful food spot in any city, the crowd outside (irrespective of the time). Imagine such a crowd with an ambiance similar to a restaurant but serving shawarma (like a kiosk), now that's very interesting.

Just as you enter, you can see the huge pole of shawarma (like a pillar made of chicken) being shaved incessantly. The large glass window invites us to have a sneak peek inside their kitchen. It all happens so fast and they are like the ninjas at work.

Their menu has variety but the base for all their dishes is their chicken shawarma by the pole.

Their soft rumali roti was so damn soft that it was almost like soft tissue. Their mayo has arrested my taste buds; the best mayo I've ever tried. 😋

The roll was freaking juicy, and crunchy from the lettuce while mildly spiced on the whole. 😊

It was their plate shawarma that stood out from the others. It was loaded with fries, Saucy mayo, saturated veggies, and chili for a bite on the side, OH WOW!! A bit crispy with a smoky, savory flavor from every bite. 🥰

Shawarma burger is something that I've never heard of. A large sweet bun stuffed with the shawarma filling; so damn good with the tender meat, the flavors were enhanced by the jalapeños and cheese, SO DAMN GOOD!! 😍

They also have mojitos, fresh juices along with milkshakes to cool down the tummy.

Their ambience is simple with limited indoor seating and bright lighting. The service was good and they had sufficient parking space. On the price front, they're okay since their good food deserves a...

The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the shawarma itself. Al Taza offers a wide variety of shawarma options, each bursting with flavor and cooked to perfection. Whether you're a fan of chicken, beef, or even vegetarian options, they have something to cater to every taste preference. The succulent and tender meat, combined with the delectable spices and marinades, created an explosion of flavors in my mouth that left me wanting more.

In addition to the exceptional shawarma, Al Taza also boasts an impressive selection of juices. From classic options like orange and apple to unique blends and exotic fruit combinations, there was something for everyone. The refreshing and well-balanced flavors of the juices perfectly complemented the richness of the shawarma, creating a truly harmonious dining experience.

Furthermore, the convenience of the parking facility at Al Taza was greatly appreciated. It made my visit hassle-free, allowing me to focus solely on enjoying my meal. The attentive and friendly staff members added to the overall positive experience, ensuring that every customer was well taken care of.

All in all, Al Taza exceeded my expectations in every aspect. The superb quality of the shawarma, the clean and inviting environment, the ample space and great ambiance, the convenient parking, and the wide variety of shawarma and juices all contributed to an unforgettable dining experience.
