Ambika Mess — Restaurant in Kerala

I am sharing my experience First of all Ambika Mess is very popular in Calicut. But in my opinion its over hyped Have a decent parking. Today i tried Meals & Fish fry Meals 60/- (Includes - pickle,Chemmeen chammandi,one side curry,thoran,pappadam,sambar,fish curry,mixed veg curry) Really worth for 60/- Fish fry 100/- (Ayla Fish fry,price is little high,taste not superb,but still taste is very good) Even though its a mess,its very neat and clean Good staff behaviour They accept upi payment The major issue i felt is, its a really hot place. My shirt got fully wet before finishing my meals. Can be recommend for families too...

This place is located on a very narrow lane just adjacent to the Gokulam Mall Went here on a Sunday late afternoon with least expectations. I was told at the entrance itself that rice is closed, so no meals.

I was dissapointed and hesitant to leave the place 😅 Few minutes later the owner called me inside and told I can order fish fry and he will manage the rice in mean time (there were few people already inside and having meals, so...)

King Fish fry was good. Veg curry, fish curry, the bitter gourd sabji was top notch.

Honestly, the meals was so satisfying, and glad I waited. 🫡

Place is very basic and bit low on the hygiene side. But good food will not dissapoint....

A place serving homely lunch at a reasonable price. There are many such places right now at Calicut, but for me this stands up in serving a tasty meal. Good service and good in taste. Most of such places have fish curry and veg curry for the lunch, but this place give a better version of them. They are open on Sundays too. They provide a special chutney or chammanthi, "chemmeen chammanthi", for lunch. Unlike other places, they too have different fish fry options and I found the rates similar only, yet they taste good.
