I recently had the pleasure of staying at The Raviz Calicut and overall, it was a wonderful experience. We had initially booked a premium room, but upon arrival, we were informed that we had been assigned a handicapped room instead. While this was a slight inconvenience, they offered to shift us to the premium room from the next day but the room turned out to be unexpectedly spacious, which compensated for the initial mix-up and so we decided to keep the same room throughout our stay.
The first thing that struck me about the handicapped room was its cleanliness. The housekeeping staff had done an excellent job, ensuring that every corner of the room was spotless. The attention to detail reflected the high standards that one would expect from a 5-star hotel. The room was well-appointed and furnished elegantly, offering a comfortable and welcoming ambiance.
Throughout our stay, the hotel staff demonstrated a high level of professionalism and courtesy. They were well-trained and went above and beyond to ensure that our needs were met. Their friendly and accommodating nature contributed significantly to the overall positive experience. It was evident that the staff members took pride in their work and genuinely cared about providing exceptional service to the guests.
The amenities offered by The Raviz Calicut were top-notch. The hotel boasted an array of facilities that catered to both leisure and business travelers. From the well-equipped fitness center to the relaxing spa, there was something for everyone. Additionally, the on-site dining options were diverse and offered a variety of culinary delights, satisfying even the most discerning palates.
The location of the hotel was convenient, providing easy access to nearby attractions and transportation links. Whether we wanted to explore the local sights or embark on a shopping spree, everything was within reach. This added convenience allowed us to make the most of our stay and explore the vibrant city of Calicut effortlessly.
In conclusion, my stay at The Raviz Calicut was a memorable one. The hotel's cleanliness, attentive staff, and excellent amenities contributed to a comfortable and enjoyable experience. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Calicut, as it offers a delightful blend of luxury and hospitality.

Read moreI chose Raviz Calicut when I had to visit Kozhikode on business along with my family. The primary reasons for choosing the Raviz over the Taj was feedback from friends that the rooms there were better. And they were not wrong!. The rooms were large and the children appreciated the extra space for games. I too appreciated the fact that I could spread out all my work tools and accessories as I worked.
The evening views from the rooms are quite beautiful and so I recommend taking a room higher up. Looking out at the horizon with a cup of tea as the sunset was one of my favorite activities during my stay.
The gym was good - not great though - but good enough. A few more pieces of equipment and it would be in the great category. Was clean and appeared to be sanitized whenever I went there. The swimming pool was closed when I visited but looked good.
One thing I like about the location is that almost everything is close by at hand. However, that is also a disadvantage due to the traffic enroute to meetings. I used to use the exit through RP Mall and found that it saved a lot of time.
Restaurant was good however, with an additional effort can be great.
Checking in and out could have been faster and less of a hassle. Reception staff can take their own time so please factor this in. I found the reception staff to be lacking in enthusiasm and un-willing to discuss simple things like how to get around. On the other hand the bell hop and house keeping staff were proactive!. Strange yet true. Parking is available close by along with valet parking.
The only major downside was the menu for in-room dining. I found this to be quite limited and was never quite great.
To conclude, The Raviz Calicut is a great hotel with a lot to offer. If they iron out a few issues this hotel will be eligible for 5 stars. A...
Read moreWe booked Raviz for a one night stay as a pit stop on our way from Mangalore to Kochi. The hotel is advertised as a 5 star property but unfortunately we found the experience far from that. While the staff are all sweet and obliging, they seemed to lack basic communication between different verticals- in house dining and reception for example. We ordered one cup of tea to our room at 5.30 pm. At 6 pm, it still hadn’t come- I called in house dining to check. The lady who answered said she would just check and call us back. Then she never called back. Called again at 6.10 pm and cancelled the tea. At 6.22 pm, they come up with the tea- which I politely sent back saying I no longer wanted it. It’s sad that this reputed property could not get a cup of tea ready in less than an hour, and also did not bother to proactively inform their guest if there was going to be a delay. Imagine our surprise when during checkout, reception asked us to close the bill for the tea! We of course refused to, and then he had to call and check with in room dining who seemed to have no idea!!! This entire experience left a sour taste in our mouth. They already knew the guest was upset about late tea, yet didn’t bother to do anything to compensate and instead actually tried to bill us for it!!! This is basic lack of coordination and communication between the staff at the hotel. Also, when we checked out, a staff member came up to check the mini fridge and then promptly left without offering to carry our bags 🤣. These are small things that are what make the difference between a real star property which is service oriented, and just a regular stay. Other than that, rooms were clean and spacious. Corridors and lift unfortunately had a bad smell. We will probably not...
