Big Bun Theory — Restaurant in Kerala

I along with my family visited The Big Bun theory, Puzhakkal, Thrissur on September 11, 2021. We reached there around 2.15PM and were initially asked to wait in the car till they takes the order because of the COVID protocol. We waited around 20 minutes for the personnel to come, however he didn't show up. Then I went to the person in charge and given the order at around 2.30 PM. My family was sitting inside our car in ignition for the order to come as it was a very hot outside. You know the petrol prices these days. We waited till 3.30PM. Nobody came to us. So I went to the same person in charge asking about the order. He said he will give the order in 5 minutes. Then at around 4PM, when he came near our car, I asked him ''shall we stay or go without taking the food''. He told everything is ready and will serve the same in 5 minutes. Then by 4.15PM, he served the order inside the car in a car-dine in mode. After taking the burgers we ordered, nobody came to us to take neither the wooden shelf nor the remains. Because of the delay in taking order and delivering the same, I myself volunteered and at around 4.45PM I paid the bill and left. The burgers were also not up to the mark. The time taken in delivering the ordered items was around 2 hours. We actually came to The big bun theory very hungry. hence, it was a frustrating 2 hrs. Families comes to such cafe's to relax and have a good time. Instead we had a very frustrating experience. I am really sorry to say that I would not revisit the place in future for sure. Don't give such experiences to customers. If more orders are there, kindly inform the customers...

Since my initial visit to this place in 2017, I have been an enthusiastic supporter and consistently recommended it as a great dining spot. Despite the relatively high prices, I used to praise the exceptional quality of the food, considering it the best in the Guruvayur/Chavakkad area. However, having returned after a few months, I am uncertain whether the decline in quality has been gradual or sudden, but it is clear that the once outstanding Big Bun Theory has lost its touch and is nowhere near its former glory.

The current prices are simply not justified anymore, and I wouldn't even recommend it now if it were half the price. Today, we ordered the 90s Burger, Chicken Al Queso, Spicy Fries, and an Alphonso Mango Shake. The patty in the 90s Burger resembled the unfortunate incident when I first attempted to cook a store-bought frozen chicken patty and ended up burning it to a crisp, resulting in a charred, unappetizing mess. The fries were inconsistent, excessively salty in some areas while being as hard as rocks in others, making me question if we accidentally received a blend of two or three different types of fries. The Al Queso was a disappointing imitation of its previously delectable rendition. The mango shake, although mediocre, provided some relief by making the other unbearable dishes somewhat palatable.

I cannot recall a recent experience where I felt so let down and disappointed. The decline in quality is truly disheartening, to the point where I can no longer include this place in my list of recommended...

From slow service to stomach ache — Big Bun Theory is a health hazard, not a restaurant.

Visited Big Bun Theory with my family (4 people) and it was an absolute disaster from start to finish. We were told food would take 20–25 minutes; instead, we waited over an hour. And to make things worse, they didn’t even serve our order together — each item trickled in 5–10 minutes apart, leaving us awkwardly eating at different times. This wasn’t during a rush hour either — the place was practically empty!

The staff seemed completely lost, disorganized, and unable to handle even the simplest orders. No courtesy, no basic customer service, and a rude attitude throughout.

As for the food — terrible. Quality was well below any reasonable standard, and the taste was equally disappointing. The real horror came when my son and I both started experiencing stomach issues before even leaving the restaurant. I had to rush home to use the toilet. This is beyond unacceptable — serving food that causes immediate discomfort is a serious health hazard.

If you value your health, time, and money — stay far away from Big Bun Theory. This place should be inspected for food safety and hygiene before they make more...
