Visited Chiyang on the 12th of July.
Chiyang has been a staple chinese food spot in Kochi. It has been known for its good portions and tasty food, making it affordable when accompanied by a friend of a group.
Me and my family ordered the Manchow Prawn soup. It was tangy, salty and full of umami. One thing I didn't like is that they add the fried noodles on top when the soup is served, I prefer it to just keep it on the side so it doesn't get soggy.
The next dish is the Fried Pork. It was splendid! - Fatty pork coated in a seasoned flour, fried into perfection. Since it is really rich, I recommend you dip this dish in the chili vinegar they give you. It is awesome!!!
Next up was the Special Chicken Lollipop. The special sauce was mediocre, as the sauce is overpowered with diced onions and garlic, with a hint of spice. The chicken however, was nice and tender. I would skip this appetizer.
We also ordered fried rice, noodles and a full portion of Chilli Chicken and a half portion of Roast Beef and onions.
The fried rice and noodles, both had a very nice aroma which complimented the taste.
The Chilli Chicken is always a regular order. Enough veg and enough chicken pieces to feed 4 people. Really tasty.
I didn't really like the Roast Beef with Onions, but my sister liked the sauce it was coated in.
Overall a great restaurant. Will definitely...

Ordered from this restaurant purely because of its reputation for Chinese food. Thought I was in for a treat. Turns out, the only thing that got treated was my patience.
Before ordering, I even did my homework—checked Google reviews, most of them were positive. That gave me the confidence to go ahead. Big mistake. Maybe they only care about dine-in customers, because the way this food was prepared, it felt like online orders are just an afterthought.
First off, the Chilly Chicken. The photo on Zomato showed a rich, tempting gravy—exactly what I was craving. What did I get? Dry, uninspiring chunks of disappointment. Only after receiving it did I realize it was listed under “starters.” Sure, my mistake for not reading the fine print—but maybe, just maybe, if you’re showing a picture of a gravy dish, the item should actually have gravy? Just a wild idea.
The quantity? Generous. But let’s be real—what’s the point of a full plate when it tastes like mediocrity? I don’t need a pile of food that I don’t want to eat.
Honestly, for the price and reputation, I expected so much more. This wasn’t just a meal—it was a lesson in how to ruin someone’s lunch. Very bad experience. A big letdown from a place that should...
