If one is aiming for a fine ambience and good vibes, then this is one of those spots out there that is away from the buzz of Kochi. If you are a passionate foodie looking to experience a fine dining experience with good quality food, you could pretty much get former but latter wouldn’t be too pleasing. “Decent” is the right word to describe the quality and quantity of the food served at this joint as it is pretty much not aimed at the mainstream crowd. The place is well lit with all its fine details, decor and generous in terms of its onsite parking facilities for the guests. There is an option for both indoor and outdoor dining and all the Covid protocols were strictly adhered to in terms of their hygiene practices on site and social distancing and kudos to the entire crew for the same. Now to the main highlight of them all, the food. All the hype and rave about this joint made me all anticipated for that premier visit and boy, it simply couldn’t deliver. The menu mainly revolves and stands true to the title of delivering French toasts, pancakes and omelette. The menu is more inclined towards a fine diner in terms of the pricing. There is a decent menu that offers select beverages. The latte that we had ordered was really good and is also one of the sole reasons for me even making the slightest efforts to write this review. We had ordered the combo 2 that consisted of the OG French toast, pancakes and cut fruits. The pancake was too stale and what was a bit too surprising was the fact that neither maple syrup/ nor butter was provided with the pancakes. The French toast though looked visually stunning had an exceptional and weird eggy taste throughout and by far is the worst French toast I’ve ever had from any joint, period. The cut fruits was yet another joke and was limited to just 3 slices of over ripen bananas and perhaps substandard papaya slices. The next on our list was the olive bread with sausage and mushrooms. The olive bread was made all fresh and tasted good but the accompanying mushroom sauce was a bit too overboard and had ruined the true essence of the dish. However, their special in-house jam that accompanied the dish was the real deal breaker which gave me more positive hopes towards trying more of their in-house jams. The joint also has a mini patisserie which has a huge collection of brownies and cakes on offer but I simply couldn’t get a chance to try them. Overall, the food was decent but definitely not a bang for the buck as one could easily find excellent food for the price paid at other similar eateries. I would recommend this place to all the couples out there or to those executives who’d like to either spend a brunch date or a break time with some good vibes amidst a busy day to spend some quality time at this joint enjoying their hospitality and the ambience on site. But if food is your priority, then the premium paid for the ambience and vibe doesn’t substitute for a decent...
Read moreWell, been to French toast earlier in Panampally Nagar. But first experience in Kacheripadi one. Its so large and so spacious
I ordered Penne Pasta with Chicken, Fries with cheese and Mint fizz.
When I must say, I am disappointed. I generally love French Toast products. I mostly had toasts in Panampally Nagar one which I loved the most. So as the cakes too. But my first exps with these pastas were disappointing
Its just very basic. Too bland. I know, I ordered Alfredo which is a cream cheese sauce. But I expected it to be bit of upscale like pamesan dust or actual cheese etc. But it turned out to be sauce made from processed cheese and I can taste that. The portion size is too small and hardly 3 or 4 pieces of chicken was there which need microscope to identify. Infact I was literarily eat penne pasta dipped in some bland cheese sauce with no flavour.
The fries with cheese was only the saving grace. But again, its not french indeed.. Rather more of typical thin french fries with some cheese melted on it. But still much better than pasta.
The mint fizz was okay.
For a bill of Rs 600+, the food was too little and too bland. Nothing to motivate for a repeat order.
Though I loved the ambience and size of the restaurant, quite disappointed with the service too... When you pay premium at an upscale casual dining one, you expect premium service. I don't know whether it was specific on that day or not. The waiters were mostly aunties who was dressed more like sweepers or cleaners etc than waiters of an upscale one. Infact the lady who took order from me, had no idea how the chicken will be in pasta...
Overall, not...
Read moreAh, let me regale you with the tale of my recent escapade into the realm of flavors at this charming establishment. The star of the show, the French toast, was nothing short of a culinary revelation. As my fork descended upon its delicate surface, I was met with a symphony of fluffiness that danced upon my palate. The marriage of textures and the subtle sweetness enveloped me in a gustatory embrace, leaving me in a state of pure gastronomic delight.
Yet, every saga must have its supporting characters, and the iced latte, while not stealing the limelight, played its role. A bit on the "okish" side, the iced latte held its own, providing a refreshing respite to accompany the indulgence of the French toast. It may not have been a showstopper, but it served its purpose well enough.
Ah, but let us not forget the pièce de résistance—the beef savory toast. A harmonious blend of flavors danced upon my taste buds with every bite. The savory depth of the beef mingled gracefully with the nuances of the accompanying elements. It was a culinary waltz that left me utterly captivated. The mastery in achieving such a well-balanced symphony of flavors is a testament to the skill of the culinary artisans behind this creation.
In conclusion, my sojourn into this culinary haven left me satiated and content. The fluffy and scrumptious French toast shall forever hold a cherished place in my heart, while the iced latte and beef savory toast played their roles with varying degrees of excellence. A gastronomic adventure worth embarking upon, where each bite tells a story of flavors and textures that...
