I recently visited Edele Hotel in Kozhikode, eager to try out their much-talked-about offerings. While there were a few highlights, my overall experience left much to be desired.
One of the standout dishes was the Upma—a delightful blend of semolina and spices that was cooked to perfection. The flavors were balanced, and the texture was just right, making it a satisfying choice for breakfast.
Another dish that stood out was the beef preparation. The meat was tender and succulent, with a brilliant combination of spices that added a burst of flavor to every bite. It was undoubtedly a highlight of the meal and showcased the culinary prowess of the kitchen.
However, my excitement dwindled as I tried their oily banana fritters. The fritters were overly greasy, taking away from the natural sweetness of the bananas. The excessive oiliness overshadowed any enjoyment I could have had, leaving me disappointed.
One significant drawback of the Edele Hotel was the overwhelming crowds. The place was often packed, resulting in long waiting lines. The constant hustle and bustle made it challenging to enjoy a relaxed meal or have a peaceful conversation. The lack of space and the noise level detracted from the overall dining experience.
Regrettably, despite the hype surrounding Edele Hotel, I found the experience to be average at best. The long waiting lines and crowded atmosphere took away from the anticipated pleasure of the visit. The restaurant failed to live up to its reputation and left me feeling underwhelmed.
While there were a few standout dishes, the overall experience did not justify the praise it had received. The mediocre atmosphere and crowded environment overshadowed the positive aspects, making it difficult to fully appreciate the culinary offerings.
In conclusion, Edele Hotel in Kozhikode had its moments with dishes like the flavorsome Upma and the delicious beef preparation. However, the oily banana fritters, crowded setting, long waiting lines, and an overall average experience left me feeling less than impressed. It's advisable to manage your expectations and consider other dining options in the area before visiting this...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at a famous eatery known for its exceptional beef and parota dishes. From the moment I walked in, the aroma of freshly cooked food was absolutely tantalizing. The parotas were perfectly fluffy and crisp, while the beef was tender and packed with rich, savory flavors that truly stood out. Every bite was a delight, making it clear why this place has earned its stellar reputation.
The ambiance of the restaurant is quite inviting, with a warm and cozy atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. The staff was courteous and attentive, ensuring that our dining experience was pleasant. Despite being very busy, they managed to maintain a high level of service, which is commendable.
However, the only drawback to this popular spot is the crowd. Given its well-deserved fame, it's almost always packed, and finding a seat can be quite challenging. We had to wait for a significant amount of time before we could be seated. While the wait was a bit frustrating, the food made it worth it. But it's something to be mindful of if you're planning a visit, especially during peak hours.
In conclusion, this restaurant is a must-visit for anyone looking to enjoy some of the best beef and parota dishes around. The flavors are unmatched, and the overall dining experience is highly satisfying. Just be prepared for a bit of a wait, as the popularity of this place means it's almost always bustling with eager diners. Despite the crowd, I would highly recommend it for its fantastic food and warm,...

This is what I love the most about Kozhikode, with such small outlet having been serving its customers delight over many years - the true essence of the quintessential Kozhikkoden spirit.
The spicy and crispy Bondas are served starting 7.30 AM. The Bondas are best paired with Uppma or Puttu. The Tea here tastes soulful and goes will the dishes.
The Pazhampori, Ullivada (super crispy), Poricha Pathiri are very delicious indeed. The snacks are freshly fried and served.
The place is packed in the early hours by people of all ages (youngsters, middle agers and the veterans) who flock from far away places for a stroll down the Beach. I always make it a point to go to Edayil Hotel atleast once whenever I’m at Kozhikode.
Edayil Hotel also serves Biriyanis for lunch, which I’m told are quite plenty and very reasonable, and tastes very good.
Located along a narrow pocket road adjacent to the main road leading to the chira (pond), the place exudes the old charm. The wooden shelf for keeping food, the rustic marble top tables and the radio playing in the background adds to the charm.
I will emphasis again when I say that places such as Edayil Hotel echoes the true spirit and essence of Kozhikode.
One place that fills my heart as equally as my tummy -...
