I think it's a bit late to review Ikkayees now, they have been a local favorite, yet now only I got a chance to have a glimpse of what this place has to offer.

During my first visit during Ramzan, the place was packed and couldn't dine without a reservation. That day I was sent back once with no joy. But I did come back to have my revenge ☺

They have a limited seating, I'm guessing max 10 tables. So it's a good idea to call and check with them before you head out. Also parking has become difficult ever since the south beach walkway became open, especially on weekends.

We started with "Kannu Vecha Pathiri" and their signature dish "Katta Local Beef Fry" ☺ The combo just made me a fan overnight. The beef was tender and really flavourful. Since we had a little room left, we tried the "chicken stick" which is a kebab style dish which was just fine. Had some fine "Sulaimani" which was surprisingly not a simple lime tea as I presumed 😂 It was the real deal.

However the real surprise came after we got our bill. The whole ordeal came under 400 rupees, yet the three of us had our fill. I would blindly recommend the place to any meat lover. I'm sure they have more exotic stuff in stock. Will be definitely coming back for more.

PS: They don't accept cards for payment. But they gave an option to pay through PayTM or Tez. But for a restaurant, accepting cards is inevitable. They have a great photo ops just outside their restaurant ☺ If you're interested into that...

I would have given ZERO stars if it was available. Let me explain the reason : Yesterday I had ordered an item through Zomato and the restaurant accepted my order immediately. But, to my surprise, after 20 minutes I got a call from them, asking me to cancel the order as that item is not available. If the item was not available ,they must have closed inventory in the app or deny the order immediately after placing it. As Zomato will charge cancellation charges if I can cancel the order from my side, I asked the restaurant to inform Zomato about this situation ( They can do it easily, I know) and cancel the item. But they were not listening to my request and repeatedly asking me to cancel it from my side. They didn't respond to my calls either after that. Finally, as no other option was available, I have contacted Zomato customer care and explained the situation. Fortunately for me, they trusted me ( being a regular customer, perhaps !!) and cancel the order from their side and provided me full refund. So, depending on my bad experience, I request everyone , not to opt this restaurant , if you value your...

Great quality food and value for money. I tried out their cheriyulli beef roast (rich flavour of shallots were overpowering the taste of meat) with nice pathiri (it is super thin and rs10) , vellappam, porotta.

Service was very polite and fast. Waiter was responding very professionally to our questions about the dishes.

Restaurant owners have tried too much to create an antique theme and it ended in a total disaster. They have used a lot of coloured glasses and lights with photographs and historical writings. In total I doesn't get any good vibe there.

Handwashing , toilet and kitchen have a common and narrow entry point which looks like a desperate space management failure. Toilet had only a below average quality and there were no enough space to bend and use the washbasin. They covered the broken mirror of washbasin with a beautiful quote saying " you are beautiful and don't need a mirror "

Even though the food and service quality is above average ,they failed to provide basic facilities in a proper way. I would prefer for a take away rather than a...

According to Samosapedia, a thattukada is described as 'Covered carts on the roadsides which sell the street food of Kerala. There is a common belief that Kerala is all about curry, coast and coconut. However, that is not completely true. Even when it comes to food, Kerala lives up to the title ‘God’s Own Country’. The land of spices offers a blend of vegetarian and non-vegetarian delicacies that takes you on a gastronomical journey. This beautiful state offers countless food options to its perpetually hungry visitors. From seafood to chicken, mutton to pork, the list is endless. But the most enticing part of Kerala food scenes is the thattukadas. These are the roadside eateries that serve the local delish with a tantalizing taste. Some of them stay open the entire day while others operate from dusk till midnight. Interestingly thattukadas play an integral part of Kerala's food culture and cannot be found anywhere else in the country. Here is a list of Kerala’s classic street food items that will tickle your taste buds and you would find them at the thattukadas.
