Scammer. From the start, he didnât want to tell us how much the meal would be. We were clear about being short on cash but he assured us âwe didnât need to worry about moneyâ and said the three of us would eat for 350 rupies which meant three pieces of fish. He even said he wasnât a scammer like others and that his food was good thus his place was always full (place was empty but people were supposed to be in the hotel in the back? Yes, red flags all around.). We waited for an hour. He kept excusing himself because he was tired and we were in a good mood so we waited willingly. Finally, he brings three sad tiny pieces of dry tuna and starts bringing a whole lot of rice and other stuff we didnât ask for. Food was aweful but we didnât want to complain because we took pity on him being so tired. (Such fools! This guy is pure act!). Meal was so poor we accepted some squid which was spicy af. Everything was spicy even though he said he wasnât going to bring anything spicy. We have been in India for 20 days and this was the most disgusting meal we ever had. In the end, he brings a bill of 1300 rupies! We didnât pay that amount of course. When we start complaining, he changes his speech saying the restaurant is not really his thing, but the hotel in the back. He should be embarrassed for the nerve of it all. However, I bet you will be able to identify him easily, as the distressed guy with the packed hotel in the back inviting you to have three pieces of fish for 300 rupies.
Extremely Disappointing Experience â Would Not Recommend
We went as a group of 8 after seeing the âhomely foodâ board, but this turned out to be one of the worst dining experiences Iâve ever had. The food quality was extremely poor and far from what was advertised.
The prawns were not cleaned or cooked properly just mixed with cut tomatoes and onions, with absolutely no taste. The beef roast was stale and clearly not fresh; it was completely inedible. To make things worse, one small prawns plate with barely 8â9 tiny pieces cost around âč400, which is outrageous for the quality served. The stale beef roast was âč300 per plate, and despite us being unable to eat it, there was no apology, no replacement, and no reduction in the bill.
Overall, the pricing was unreasonable, the food quality was unacceptable, and the experience was deeply disappointing. If there were an option, I would rate this place less than one star. The only positive thing I can say is that the staff were not rude, but that alone does not make up for such poor food and lack of accountability.
I would strongly advise others to think twice before dining here.
