One of the best options at marari beach. We stayed at this beach for 8 days and visited daily for dinner or lunch. (Sometimes both 🤷♀️) The menu and quality is really different from the other food places. After a few days we realized that all the other location were all pretty the same and on a lower/medium standard. Not this place: it's freshly cooked and all dishes are more uplifted. It's the details: the sauces, the vegetables sides, everything is very fresh and has a great flavor. Like it's charcoal grilled, verrrry good. The fresh fish options are a little more expensive than the other restaurants, but after a few days you will taste the difference. We had prawns and squid and loved both.
Today we tried the grilled fish (snapper) and it was the juiciest fish I’ve ever had. The ginger garlic butter spice is pure perfection!!!! All the shakes and juices were great and are prepared with safe water. The waiting time from order to food serving depends on when you visit and how busy it is. We had everything from 15-30 minutes, which we think is very fast, but we tried to avoid the main dinner/lunch hours. But we can imagine that it takes a bit longer when they are busy, since every dish is freshly cooked and nothing is pre-cooked. So you might wanna plan a little waiting time for your visit when coming during main dinner/lunch hours. But: It's worth it and you’ll be able to enjoy their great playlist longer ;-)
The service is friendly and inclusive and respectful and we felt very welcome.
We loved the relaxed doggies (and the puppies) 😍

We were so blown away by the food we ate on our first night in Mararikulam, we knew we would come back repeatedly for the remaining three nights. The vibe is easy-going, with shazamable music and the food is certainly worth the rightful wait for delicacies made from scratch with the freshest of ingredients.
Tony, Samuel and the rest of the guys are welcoming hosts and make you feel at home. If you are reading this review, dont hesitate; find them and your tastebuds can thank me by paying it forward with a review of your own!!
My top picks: Fish pollichath ( I chose the black pommefritte). My sister who has grown up with home fish curries, even enjoyed a taste of mine and plans on ordering her own tonight, our last night in Mararikulam. Lemon rice Keralan Chicken curry
There wasnt anything we ordered we didnt enjoy, but my favourites are 👆🏽.
When next in Kerala, we will be sure to...
Read moreThis place is awesome! I watched sunset on the beach and arrived right after. Staff was extremely kind and ran around trying to make me comfortable. I got the fruit mojito which was delicious but the star of the show was the fish pollichath. They brought out an array of fresh fish I could choose from and the proceeded to cook. I gobbled it up so fast. Didn't even know I could finish the large fish I chose but finish I did and I wished for more. Definitely go. There was a family I met there that had eaten there 3 nights in a row and were getting a cooking class.
If trying to find it by foot you can just walk across the beach. But by car, Google maps is a bit tricky. You can follow Google maps or over shoot and continue on the tarred road till you get to the beach. There is an untarred back road that runs parallel to the beach on the left which is the back of the beach shops and it will get...
