Run by the mostly friendly Owner, Abbas, the Irani Fast Food Joint on Wheels, has been a mouth watering presence in Vellayambalam area of Thiruvananthapuram for over twenty years now. When the City was less crowded the Irani Fast Food Vehicle used to be parked right in front of the then Trivandrum Branch of HSBC Bank in Vellayambalam from 7.00 pm to about 11.00 pm daily. For the past one year, the bigger Irani Fast Food Vehicle is parked in the Althara Junction at the beginning of the Manaveeyam Veedhi, keeping to the same timing of 7 to 11 pm.
Abbas and his Irani Team are a very friendly lot, offering the popular Dinner spread of the average Keralite, comprising of Malabar Porotta, Chapathi, Idiyappam, with a variety of side veg and non-veg dishes. Served piping hot, the items are priced reasonably and are served in hygienic conditions.

There are not much varieties to try on, but the products they serve are good and of great quality. I ordered chicken fry with parotta. The gravy given along with that was good and the chicken fry was one of the best I've ever had. My friends ordered beef chilli and chicken chilli which was good also. The chicken chilli was great and I personnaly did not find beef chilli up to mark when compared to the other two. The service was also good as there were multiple orders and they were managing all fairly well. There could have been some chairs or tables for people to dine in. If not chair, some tables can help people put the plates and eat rather than take the plates in their hands the whole time.
