Had a terrible experience at this place today. While the food was good, the service was extremely disappointing. This was my third visit, and every time, the service has let us down.

There is a particular waiter who usually takes orders, and his attitude is unacceptable. During our first visit, we ordered two kulukki sarbaths. He confirmed it was available, but after serving the first one, we were told they only had ingredients for one. When we questioned this, the waiter started arguing with us, insisting that we had only ordered one.

After that incident, we made it a point to double-check our orders. The second time we visited, we reconfirmed if the ingredients were available before ordering, and this seemed to annoy him. We even complained to the receptionist, but nothing changed.

Now, on our third visit, we faced the same issue. The same waiter took our order but left midway without confirming it after we asked of they had the ingredients for the number of kulukki sarbath we ordered. When we called him back to reconfirm, he rudely responded, "Kore nerayallo kedann kaarunnu" (which roughly translates to “You have been screaming for a long time now”) and walked away.

Once again, we complained to the receptionist, and just like before, he assured us that he would speak to the waiter. But given that nothing has changed, it’s clear that no action has been taken.

It’s shocking that they continue to employ someone so rude and unprofessional. If they want to maintain any reputation, they need to reconsider their staff choices. Definitely not returning after this...

Malabar Qissa offers a culinary journey into the heart of Malabar, providing diners with a taste of the region's distinctive flavors. The menu features dishes prepared in the traditional Malabar style, often accompanied by small servings of rice and delightful beetroot pickle. The authenticity of the cuisine is a highlight for those seeking an authentic Malabar dining experience.

However, my visit to Malabar Qissa was marked by a few notable drawbacks. The most prominent issue was the overcrowding. The restaurant tends to be so packed that it can feel overwhelmingly congested. Tables are positioned very closely to each other, leaving diners with limited personal space. This overcrowding can detract from the dining experience and make it challenging to enjoy the meal in a relaxed setting.

Hygiene was another area of concern. While the food may tantalize the taste buds with its rich Malabar flavors, the restaurant's cleanliness and maintenance appeared to be lacking. Maintaining high standards of hygiene is crucial in the food industry, and lapses in this area can leave customers with reservations about the overall dining experience.

In conclusion, Malabar Qissa offers a flavorful journey into Malabar's culinary heritage, but it's marred by overcrowding and hygiene issues. The close arrangement of tables can lead to a cramped and uncomfortable dining atmosphere, while cleanliness concerns can leave diners questioning the overall quality of the experience. Addressing these issues would significantly enhance the restaurant's appeal and customer...

I have tried their masala shawayi after seeing a lots of paid reel by them 😂😂just like as usual over hyped and bad food their masala shawayi s masala is not cooked and we can fry fish with that masala....its aa sour bitter like taste they places a scoop of masla in the top of shawayi and give to us...le us what the fuck is this...😑 we later realized that shawaya is so superb if we remove the masala from the top🙂 Am telling you that their masala is so bad on that day i have tried (may be everyday is that taste ....i dont know)... But their normal shawayi and mayonnaise ufff top notch i liked there mayonnaise alot

Good atmosphere enough dining space, enough parking place in front of the shop not plenty just enough street parking

Delightful Family Dining Experience at Malabar Qissa, Infosys Bypass Trivandrum We recently visited Malabar Qissa, located near Infosys Bypass, Trivandrum, for a family dinner, and it was an excellent experience from start to finish. We ordered Mandi and Al Faham, and both dishes were truly delicious – cooked to perfection with authentic flavors. The food quality was impressive, and the portions were generous, making it a great choice for family dining. The ambience of the restaurant is warm and welcoming, with comfortable seating and a pleasant atmosphere that made our visit even more enjoyable. One thing that stood out was the cleanliness and hygiene – everything was well-maintained, which gave us a lot of confidence and comfort. Service was polite and attentive, and the overall experience left us with happy memories. Malabar Qissa is definitely a restaurant worth recommending for anyone who enjoys good food with a nice dining setup in Trivandrum.

Gastronomic Satisfaction... If one can describe their dining experience from Malabar Qissa restaurant, this would be how i can be done perfectly. The malabar wedding style biryani is easily among the best that you can find in Trivandrum and the rice being unlimited and the generous quantity of meat served, the salad and the pickles, especially the ground beetroot one ., All of this served ib a banana leaf.. What nore do u want? They also have other ghee rice combos which i am a fan of especially the neychorum kozhi porichathum combo, then they have shavaya and afghani rice which i would not prefer generally if biryani or neychoru is available. The cool drink menu too is great with varieties of goli soda, lime juices and sodas, fresh juice and their soecial avil milk section. Highly recommended if you are from northerns jerala and you miss your home or for trivandrumites who gave not attended a malabar wedding feast.

Restaurant was opened few days back and few items are there in the menu. More items are yet to be added. Food Items that are currently provided are good. We tried shawaya and dum biriyani. Shawaya is well marinated with flavours of masala and properly slow cooked. It tasted so good. And malabar dum biriyani was even good with well cooked meat and well flavoured masala rice. And checked chocolate Avil milk it was okay. Because thickness of avilmilk was not so good. The presentation of avil milk with ice cream was good. Dining space and ambience is good and food items are fairly priced for the taste and quality they provide. Service is a bit slow. Overall it’s good to go and have some malabar style food items.
