Today, we visited Namma Veedu Vasantha Bhavan at the Kuravankonam branch for lunch, but the experience fell short of our expectations. The service felt somewhat distant, with minimal engagement from the waitstaff. Our orders were brought to the table with little interaction, giving the experience a rather impersonal feel. We ordered a mix vegetable noodles for the kids, though it was quite bland and lacked flavor, leaving it largely untouched. My wife and I opted for the thali meals, which had an impressive presentation. The meal was beautifully laid out, with a generous variety of stainless-steel bowls filled with different dishes that made the meal visually inviting. It included a chapathi, Keerai Masiyal, a yam-based poriyal, two other varieties of poriyal (which were particularly enjoyable), a tangy sambar, pulishery, rasam, a large bowl of rice, a pickle, a big applam, a payasam, and a sweet (likely a laddu). While the thali was well-crafted and thoughtfully varied, the flavors overall were more subtle than anticipated. Another notable issue at this branch is the bathroom setup. The restroom is located downstairs, quite a distance from the main dining area, which could be challenging for elderly patrons or those with mobility concerns. Additionally, there is only a single wash basin in the dining area, leading to wait times during peak hours. Given the brand’s reputation and pricing, we expected a higher standard of both food quality and customer service. The thali setup itself was appealing, though, and with some added attention to flavor, accessibility, and service, this branch has the potential to offer a more satisfying experience.

One of the best places in Trivandrum to get authentic North Indian Chat items in a hygienic environment. The ambience is ok with multiple sections to sit at although it feels a bit congested at all these seatings. The people who take orders and serve food are nearly dressed with head covers and gloves and masks. The menu has lots of options to choose from. We chose Dahi Puri, Rose Milkshake and Rooh Afza Milkshake. The Dahi Puri arrived first. It was neatly arranged in a plate consisting of 6 Dahi Puris. The most tasty Dahi Puris ever, is what we feel about this dish. The milkshakes arrived soon enough. The Rose milkshake is the typical rose milk that you get at other places, neither amazingly different from anywhere else and not too bad either. The typical Rosemilk that you get. Now coming to the Rooh Afza Milkshake. It was similar to the Rose milkshake, with a typical Rooh Afza flavor to it. We liked it. The milkshakes were neither too thick nor too watery. It had the perfect texture and was fulfilling. The 6 Dahi Puris were more than enough for the two of us and we had a great time tasting every bit of the chat. The chat dressing was gratitutious enough to last even after finishing off the individual Puris. We loved it a lot. Overall, a nice place to have the North Indian Chats and a good enough place for milkshakes and juices.

Went here for a breakfast cum discussion with a client. Ordered 3 ghee roast, 2 coffee 1 tea 1 masal dosa and vada. The food was just mediocre and the service was pathetic. They were soo eager to take our order. They served vada first and made us wait for a long time for dosa(yes they make vada and keep stock but we asked it along with dosa). Then they first served masal dosa and made us wait for 5mnts for ghee rost. Then they served only 2 ghee roast and we again waited for the last one for atleast 10mnts. Then someone came and asked us if we want anything else. This was totally irritating and unprofessional for a restaurant waiting to first write down the order and still miss items. Its really awkward for others to eat when someone is waiting for his food. Mean time i asked them to bring the tea. They delayed that too by 10mnts. They totally ruined the dining experience for us. Update Tried again for lunch. The meals is really good but they dont serve any breads or curry during meal time. Its okk and we got fried rice too. Taste wise it was nice but waiting time is again toomuch. My friends finished their meals while i got my food which is really irritating

One of the worst experience I ever had. We visited Namma Veedu Vasantha Bhavan at Kuravankonam, Trivandrum on a Sunday evening around 9pm. I had been to their Chennai branch they are a decent chain. However after visiting the Trivandrum restaurant I have decided not to go there again. There is a waiting time which I can understand, once you get your seat they will give a menu which is very attractive and we spend 15 minutes to decide the items and finally found out none of the items is menu is not available. We did not go late in the night as its open until 11pm and Sunday being a busy day they should have planned for those dishes in the menu. I am not talking about one or two dishes majority of them were not available. I have been born and brought up in Tvm and a great fan of Balaji cafe, Venkadesa bhavan near Fort area and they do serve better food in low price than this place. Also all our thattu kada in roadside is much better as you know what you will get there and you won’t be disappointed. I believe this may be a Franchise and its high time they close this place or rearrange their menu to keep what they can serve. I later found out that its not just me my whole family has some or the other worst experience in this restaurant. Guys if you are planning to go think twice and thrice and there are better...
