An Unexpected Seafood Feast at NJANDUM KONJUM!
Our team of 26 wanted to have a seafood lunch, so we decided to visit Njandum Konjum. We gave them a call, made our reservations, and from that moment, the experience was nothing short of delightful.
Right from the entrance, we were welcomed warmly by their friendly staff and immediately felt at home with the cozy and creative ambience. One thing that really caught our attention was their unique table setup — the dining tables were crafted from old sewing machine stands! Quirky, nostalgic, and surprisingly comfortable — a fun twist that added to the charm of the place.
Now coming to the highlight — the food.
We were a hungry bunch and almost ordered everything on the menu. Some of the standout dishes we tried:
Prawns Kanthari – juicy, flavourful, with that perfect green chilli kick
Kalanji Fry – a rare catch, crispy on outside and soooooft inside and perfectly seasoned
Red Snapper Fry – fresh, flaky, and fried to perfection
Kappa & Meals – the traditional Kerala combo done right
Kalanji Tenga Paal Curry – a creamy, coconut-based delicacy that stole the show!
Chicken Fry, Kakka Fry, Prawns Fry, Squid Fry – all were outstanding with each having its own distinct taste and spice level
And that’s not even the full list – many dishes didn’t even make it into the pictures because they were devoured too quickly!
What truly impressed us was the freshness of the seafood. Every dish was well-balanced with spices, never too overpowering or too bland — just the right amount to bring out the best in the ingredients.
Service was swift, even for a large group like ours, and the overall vibe was relaxed and joyful.
We'll definitely be back again — this time to try their Goan Meals and Pomfret Fry, which we’ve already marked on our list!

Read moreUpdated review (12 April 2025)- Unfortunately, our experience at this restaurant has been consistently disappointing when it comes to service. We’ve visited twice recently, and both times were marked by significant delays. While we understand that certain items like specials may take time, the delay in serving chapathi along with curry—even after specifically requesting it—was frustrating. Moreover, both visits involved incomplete service. We had to repeatedly remind the staff about missing side dishes, and even then, items like papadam and sambar were completely missed during our first visit. Today, we noticed avial being served to other tables after we had finished our meal—something we were never offered. Juice orders took forever, only to be followed by a staff member informing us that juices were unavailable due to the rush. Whether it's a staff shortage or poor coordination, the overall experience has been underwhelming and far from the standard expected. There's definitely a lot of room for improvement in their service approach.
Old review- A must try place for authentic Kerala cuisine.. newly opened, yet to have their full set menu.. but honestly the lunch meal was really tasty just like home cooked oonu on ella.. the meal itself is quite filling & you can order seafood for the specials for the day. Read moreWith the great expections, today I went with my family for the dinner. We ordered Appam, fish mollee, njand roast, puttu and chicken mappas. Except njandu roat all other items were delicious. Everyone liked very well. I would like to call your Njandu Roast as Thondu Roast. There were no flesh inside the leg pieces and less flesh inside the body parts and we made witness the service boy in live, while breaking the leg piece. We saw that he was conveying the same to the owner lady. They didn't treat it as a complaint. I think they took it as a compliment. They didn't reduced any single money from the bill amount and when questioned about the same she was pretended to hear it as first time and her explanation was "during purchase of crabs they couldn't understand it's fleshy or not and now the bill has already prepared and we will do the adjustment in next time". Dear Ma'am If you can't purchase the good quality crab please change the shop name as THONDUM KONJUM, don't put your liability on customer's head. We are paying the amount that you demand, so we have the rights to get a good quality of foods.Otherwise you please make the pricing as per the quality of the crabs. Then, about the adjustment for the next bill, if I would like to come there again, then it's okay. But because of the experienced today, I or anyone of my friends or relatives will not come with my reference. For the customer service or support I would like to give you ZERO mark. But unfortunately there is no option for it. That's why I...
