A Memorable Dining Experience at Barbeque Nation, Lake Mall, Kalighat

Perfectly placed on our table, it offered an interactive dining experience where we could grill our skewered meats to our liking. The marination of the prawns, chicken, and fish was nothing short of perfection. Each skewer was packed with flavors, and the aroma wafting from the grill added to the anticipation of every bite. The staff ensured that the grills were continuously refilled, catering to our taste preferences.

From succulent chicken wings and tender mutton kebabs to the perfectly spiced fish tikka, each dish was a masterpiece. The freshness of the ingredients and the balance of spices reflected the skill of their chefs. The prawns, in particular, stood out, offering a burst of flavors with every bite.
Main Course: A Symphony of Flavors The main course was no less spectacular. The array of curries and biryanis was a treat for the palate. The mutton rogan josh was cooked to perfection, with tender pieces of meat immersed in a rich, flavorful gravy. The chicken biryani was aromatic, with each grain of rice cooked to the ideal texture. Paired with buttery naans and refreshing raita, it was a meal to remember.

We visited on 26th June with a prior reservation for 6 pax. Service is so good and we had a confusion about nearbuy coupon that it was valid or not, they guided us too well and we even purchased it after being seated.
So coming to the starters -
There are always so much options available in veg and non veg. First we were welcomed by a crispy noodle chat or something like that. I just tasted it. And corn on the cob. Which was decent. From veg there were paneer, broccoli, mashed potato kabab , button mushroom and all. Amongst those the broccoli and mushroom are the best. Corn chat was good as always. Coming to the non veg - chicken reshmi kebab, fish haryali kebab, mutton sheek kebab , prawn and all. The mutton sheek kebab was too good, as well as the prawn. Fish haryali , chicken was decent enough. Now the point is that, they missed some items from the non veg section. While I was talking about how good the AB's chicken leg was, everyone remembered that BBQ also serves things like that. 😂 So we told them and they served us a chicken drumstick which was too dry 😭 While having mains, we talked about that and they served us chicken wings in the middle of mains, which was DAMN! Unfortunately, we were so full to have it another round. Also they didn't serve pineapple kebab while having starter. They served it later in the main course round. It was delicious though.
We ordered coke and lime soda separately.
Anyway coming to the mains - Chicken biryani was decent enough but I couldn't have much. Mixed fried rice was decent too. The mutton was so good. But they weren't refilling it and there were only the bones left. Also the soup was so so bland. After they came us for review, we told everything and they served us two big bowl full of mutton pieces. 🥹 Also the chef came and served the re cooked soup himself, which was oh my god! I miss that soup now. 🥲 Unfortunately we couldn't have enough because of the wrong timing.
Desserts- So much options available. But less comparing to AB's. The red velvet pastry was so good. The mango pastry and chocolate brownie was so good. The best was mango moussé. Had vanilla ice cream with syrup and the pan kulfi and chocolate kulfi was too good as always. Also it was my post birthday celebration and they served me a strawberry cheescake and we celebrated! Yay!! I would have deducted 0.5 point for the slow service. Anyway they showed enough professionalism afterwards and the allover food was really...
Read moreWe've heard a lot about barbeque nation's buffet but this festive season they've added some special dishes that you can avail only if you pay a visit during 20th of december to 6th of january. Our group reached 50K followers on Facebook, so we decided to celebrate it somewhere special where we can eat our heart out. Being a foodie there can be no better place to try buffet other than Barbeque Nation.
So, let me elaborate what we got in the menu
Mutton Vindaloo : The mutton was pretty soft. I felt like there were couple of potatoes mashed in the gravy. Just the perfect balance of salt and sugar. It's a must have. Recommended.
Chicken Makkhanwala : The presentation looks very much alluring in itself. The pieces were pretty soft and the gravy had a really beautiful after taste. I recommend you this dish to try with their chicken rice or maybe with the dum chicken biryani.
Veg Navaratna : There were like some koftas dipped in the gravy with some corn kernels. Definitely a go to option for the vegetarian people.
Rajasthani Stuff Potato : This was the first time me having rajasthani stuffed potato. So I had no idea like what it tastes like to be honest. There were like couple of green chilis topped on the dish for garnishing. I thought it's gonna be spicy but it wasn't really that spicy at all. Another Must try from the menu to experience something new.
Chicken Dum Biryani : I can literally eat biryani my whole life and not get bored. This one was one of the best I've had till now. The fried onion made it a bit sweeter but the aroma and the taste overwhelmed the dish. RECOMMENDED.
Some special kebabs have been introduced only for this festival and I recommend you to try the Kumbh Khazana which is one of them. It's basically a veg kebab where they've used like, two button mushrooms turned upside down and covered it with batter. Very much appetizing.
They've introduced couple of new desserts as well but I don't quite remember all the names but I do remember the chocolate mousse which they've served in small shot glasses, looked absolutely adorable.
I've visited barbeque nation twice or thrice maybe but this one was my first visit at this lake mall outlet and I really had a great experience dining here. The staffs are really warm hearted and keeps on checking if the grill is empty or not, if we need water or not. I really loved it. Do visit during this festive season so that you can try these new dishes....
