Hundreds of restaurants in China Town, but itās very hard to find a proper balance of ambiance, food quality and price. China Garden located just few steps away from Beijing is just that.
There was no queue like overhyped Beijing. The ambiance is quite nice, comfortable sofa sitting and lot of space. Service is good too.
Took few beers and unlike other places of China Town they had all the drinks available on their menu. Drinks prices are bit high but the food prices are very reasonable.
Starters Dragon Wings @ Rs.260 (4/5) Chilli Oyster Drumstick @ Rs.255 (5/5) Chilli Garlic Pepper Fish @ Rs.305 (2/5) Wings and drumsticks are must try, it tasted wonderful and the portion was very good. But the fish could've been better, very small pieces, portion was very less.
Mains Chicken Chopsuey @ Rs.235 (2/5) Fried noodles had some burned oil smell and very less vegetables in Chopsuey gravy. It tasted average, can be hugely improved.
I loved the overall experience at China Garden. Their food is good and goes well with our palate, portion size is good and prices are very affordable. Definitely a good choice...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI am very fond of Chinese cuisine and wanted to satisfy my taste bud with one authentic Chinese restaurant . We visited China Garden in China Town . Ordered Prawn Papad , pan fried momo (8 Pc. In half plate ) and hot garlic chicken drumstick ( 8 Pc. In half plate ) as appetiser . All of them are superb . Specifically the Pan fried momo and the hot garlic chicken drumstick I liked most. I prefer spicy , so the chicken drumstick , garnished with garlic cube was superb to me . In main course we ordered China garden mixed fried rice and noodles. Quantity was sufficient . Easily one can make it 1/2 for dinner purpose . Lots of prawn, chicken , scrambled eggs were available. In side dish we tasted dragon fish (dry) and schezwan chicken (dry) . All are good in taste . Quality and quantity are good . Price is resealable. We had all these in Rs . 1667/- (incl. tax) for four people. A must visit place in kolkata if you like...

First of all staffs & management behaviour is very poor .We have ordered 1 hakka egg chicken chow, as I am allergic to prawn but received mixed chow. Fried rice is full of stones. Rest foods are very bad. When we asked them for changing the same they replied us that these small issues happen doesnāt matter, you just carry on. After lots of quarrel they changed our food. Also took payment from us of mixed chow. Now this the way of their customer handling. We usually visit Beijing, Big Boss or any reputed restaurants in that area. But due to huge crowd we gone there. So guys, request you all please have food in proper or reputed places which are praiseworthy. The experience which we four of us face doesnāt want you guys to repeat.
