Hot Wok Village — Restaurant in Kolkata

I recently visited this restaurant for the first time and overall, it was a pleasant experience. Overall, it was a delightful experience. It’s a good place to hang out with friends, boasting ample parking facilities and three distinct enclosures. One enclosure is exclusively for gentlemen where smoking is permitted, while the other two are reserved for families and are strictly non-smoking areas.

The service was commendable, and the food, while not extraordinary, was satisfactory. We ordered a variety of dishes, including the Chilli Garlic Pepper Prawns (dry, full), Hot Wok Special Prawn (dry, half),and the Mixed Rice Noodle are highly recommend.

Other dishes we tried were the Mongolian Fish (dry, half) Special Chicken Wings (dry, half) Mixed Hakka Cow (dry, half) and Honey Garlic Chicken (dry, half).

Each dish had its unique flavor, with the prawns and noodles standing out as particularly delicious. The pricing was reasonable, making it a viable option if you can’t secure a table elsewhere. However, the interiors could benefit from some additional decoration to enhance the ambiance.

Very bad place and they keep anti social to charge you extra, I have been visiting their place for last 3 years, but for last 6 months their food quality & service is being deteriorated day by day. For last 10 days , I went to their restaurant 3 times, every time they offered me stale startes, and todey when I went to them with my family friends, they did the same acitivities, with same bad quality food with delayed service, although, being a gentle man I didn't complain, during payment they simply denied upi payment acceptance, Then I paid by debit card, ( screen shot is being attached), after getting debited from bank, they simply denied, and started physical assaulting by owner John Lee and his son, I simply feel very insulted and request you to never visit this place, thus place became place if anti social people and illegal couples, they started to keep Gundas/ anti social to charge you extra. After Big Boss, they have the biggest place in China Town, hence named it Village. If there are waits everywhere, you’ll surely get a table here.

They have beautiful large aquariums and rare fishes, with multiple dining areas and good service. We ordered the following specialty items recommended by them, along with a few chilled beers:

I would say their dishes taste a bit different from traditional China Town food. For instance, their special Hot Wok Chicken was made with their own in-house sauce, which was very spicy and tangy, more than I liked. Additionally, the portion was quite small, as were the chicken pieces for the price. The Drumsticks in Spicy Garlic Sauce were overly smoky and spicy. The Rice Noodles were good, while the Fried Rice was mostly bland.
