Ordered Crunchy Fried Fish (10 pcs) - Rs 300 (4.5/5) Drumstick in Hongkong Style (8pcs) - 260 (5/5) Red Pepper Fish 300 (4/5) Mixed Gravy Chow 210 (2.5/5)
According to me Golden Empire is one of the Cheapest alcohol serving Bar Cum Restaurants in Chaina Town.
You can check the latest price menu in the menu section as I have uploaded the menu on menu section.
Try Crunchy Fried Fish, Drumstick in Hong Kong Style and Red Pepper Fish in the starter. These 3 starters are absolutely fantastic and perfectly go with alcohol.
If I am missing out any of their signature or good starter, then do let me know in the comment section.
In the main course we took Mixed Gravy Chow. Which was not up to the mark. I didn't like the bitter taste of the green leaves. The dish didn't live up to my palate.
So I suggest you can go for normal mixed hakka Chow or Rice. As I will do the same when I visit next time.
The 1st floor seating area is quite big. You can throw any party in this restaurant. On 26th May 2024 Sunday, there was another big group with around 20 odd people. They were celebrating someone's birthdays. Hence the waiters were a little busy to cater to that big group. Still the service was quite good and we had a lovely time over there.
I recommend Golden Empire, you should definitely visit this restaurant in Chaina Town if you wish to enjoy great food and affordable booze in a low...
Read moreLocated just opposite to Beijing in China Town if you're little low on budget and can't afford Beijing's high prices for the time being then you can consider Golden Empire. But point is, should you?
Just like most of the places in China Town they also have a huge dining upstairs and the ambiance is quite simple but feels good. This big place had only 2 staffs but surprisingly they were very quick.
Their alcohol menu is quite long but 90% weren't present. Thank God I got my favourite pint Bira White. Prices are bit high for alcohol.
We took their suggestion and ordered their speciality dishes... Red Pepper Fish @ Rs.290 (4/5) Fried Prawn Chips @ Rs.170 (3/5) Drumstick in Hong Kong Style @ 260 (5/5) Chilli Garlic Pepper Shrimps @ Rs.320 (3/5) Chicken Hakka Chowmin @ Rs.170 (3/5)
Fish to prawn to chicken starter items were good but quantity for prawn and shrimps were quite low as per China Town restaurant standard. Drumstick in Hong Kong Style and Red Pepper Fish are must try. In mains just took plain Hakka Noodles that tasted okay.
Overall nice experience but they don't offer luxury as some big brands in China Town like Beijing or Big Boss. Per person cost including alcohol is...

Golden Empire has a vast area allotted to the restaurant, yet the footfall in very low. We had walked in for lunch around 1 pm and all the while we dined there, the restaurant remained empty. The roomy interior seemed like a deserted joint.
Now, coming to the food, the quality, as well as the quantity, was good and we enjoyed our meals, but due to lack of customers, we were apprehensive about the food's freshness. However, you want ample food, which is tasty yet reasonable, then this is the right place...
